AN EXPERIMENT GOES HORRIBLY WRONG WHEN A GROUP OF STUDENTS TEST A DISTURBING THEORY — JEREMY DAVIES AND WILLIAM MAPOTHER GUEST STAR

Manny (Harold Perrineau) sends John to help an old friend, Ritchie Simpson (guest star Jeremy Davies), at Ivy University where a group of students have a found a way into an alternate dimension only to be met by a maniacal killer (guest star William Mapother).

Tom Cruise cousin William Mapother as a serial killer

This episode had a bit of a slasher movie vibe to it which I enjoyed. Nice to see Ritchie Simpson return. I think Jeremy Davies and Matt Ryan have good on screen chemistry together. William Mapother was pretty creepy as Jacob Shaw.

I really enjoyed this episode. It might be my favorite of the season. I missed Chas a little but Richie is a good character for Constantine to play off. I didn't really miss Zed, though.

This is one of my favourite episodes so far. The episode felt very Lovecraftian.

Nice little mention of Ritchie's comic story with the consciousness was transferred into a computer. Ritchie saying he and John were Cancer was a neat nod to the comics as well.

I liked the Bradstreet Hall easter egg.

Happy to see John not reliant on magical artefacts for a change.

Happy to see John pickpocketing campus cops, smoking cigs and boozing.

I hope we get to see a flashback of the Newcastle Crew altogether one day.

Harold Perrineau, Jeremy Davies, AND William Mapother. Casting director must really love Lost.

Amazing episode. Focusing more on Constantine, developing his character, and how he interacts with old friends was great to see. The whole "other dimension" stuff was a bit serial killer, slasher vibe.

Every bit of THIS!! It's a 10 from me

True. I believe it also referenced Aleister Crowley with the Egyptian ritual, Shaw's protege falling victim of it, and mentioning of Ma'at in invocations.

Anyway, for some reason I feel like this episode was originally planned to be one of the first few, I could be wrong though.

And if Zed doesn't kick the bucket by the end of the season, I'll be very disappointed. It's not just a matter of killing off a certain character, it would also finally give the series that darker vibe it needs from the very beginning and could set for a much darker second season (if there's to be one of course).

They can't anyway seeing as she was left alive in the comic by the end of Delano's run. Though she would've been killed off by one of the demon spawn Rosacarnis force John to conceive had Mike Carey has access to her there and before it Staring At The Wall (the first two parts of it). Since he didn't Alba Suria was created in her place.

Ah, true.

Well, I wouldn't mind a little deviation from comics in that regard. Not that I have very high hopes for it.

Hopefully we'll at least get to see Corrigan take a permanent vacation in the last episode of the season.

I was actually expecting Ritchie to buy a one-way ticket in this episode.

By the way, am I being excessive with euphemisms? :woot:

This episode was really good. Great twist on the "psycho who controls a different reality" trope and a good take on different dimensional planes. They have done a really good job adapting the Ritchie Simpson character on this show.

Man this show just gets better and better as it goes on, only 2 episodes to go I really hope it finds a new network.
