Should the cosmic cube be in "The First Avenger: Captain America"?

I voted no because I would rather see the companion cube :cwink::awesome:

well there was those rumors not to long ago saying there was some special type of power source howard stark was working on or something for in ironman 2 in the 40s. It could be hinting to cosmic cube or soemthing.

I didn't see it but people are saying that the Red Skull is holding what appears to be the Cosmic Cube in the Comic Con clip. So *bump* and good call Silvermoth! :)

Anything you want it to do.

The Cosmic Cubes are items that control matter and energy, answering to the will of the sentient beings that use them. They require practice to be used properly, but a skillful user can alter all reality to answer to its thought, granting anything they desire.

You think the Cube is gonna be responsible for ****ing up Skull's face? Like he wishes to be like Cap and although he's granted his strength, he loses his face...

Maybe, I dunno. I read that the clip showed Red Skull finding it at an old castle, I wonder if they're taking the "Hitler is obsessed with occult artifacts" approach and Skull is the guy hunting that stuff down? Then he could try to use it for the first time and it melts his face off, Raiders-style! Hell yeah!

Except unlike that weenie Toht, Skull lives.

Love the cube and they'll need to have it established for when they do Winter Soldier.

Speaking of that, we need to see Bucky's costume.

According to Poni_Boy over at www.comicbookmovie.com it's a tomb that "belongs to Odin" where Schmidtt finds the cube. Would be cool if true...

Cube is a great thing to include; classic Red Skull right there. And yes, as Kurosawa pointed out, useful to have the Cube established if they choose to employ the Winter Soldier in Cap II--and they should.

Isn't the cosmic cube on a similar power level to say the infinity gauntlet? If so, I wonder how someone at Captain America's power level will be able to stop the Red Skull with this serious increase in power. I mean granted the Red Skull is no Thanos in my opinion, but Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlets pretty much took on the entire Marvel Universe and was kicking their you know whats at least for a while. So, even if Red Skull has some of that power I would say Captain America is in trouble.

Funny you should mention it because didn't Joe Johnston say that Raiders was gonna be an influence in the Cap movie?

"The Skull then finds a hidden compartment, finds a box inside, and opens it. An old man warns the Skull that man was not meant to see what's inside. "Exactly," answers the Skull. "

So what's in the box ?

you never see it just golden glow

So...will the Cosmic Cube make Red Skull...Red Skull? I'm not familiar with the origins of what happens to him. Would be cool though to see his skin melt off "Indiana Jones" style.

The moment I heard it was in the film I instantly thought about the Nazis and their treasure-hunting escapades, and it seems appropriate they're tying the object to Odin as it would make sense the Nazis would go after an artifact of the Norse/Germanic gods (Hitler did like Wagner's operas) than the Jewish one like in Indiana Jones.

in the comics it was just a mask. Hitler challenged his top men to make a hotel bellhop the best Nazi. Not liking what they did Hitler took him under his wing and made him into an evil person and gave him the Red Skull mask to scare his enemies

The popular theory is Hitler (Actually think it was Himmler who more into the occult stuff and 'Aryan' mythology) had sources out looking for all manner of religious artifacts, not least among them the Holy Grail.

Just a thought...If they introduce the Cube here, then the Gauntlet in Thor and use that later on in an Avengers movie, it would make sense for the Avengers to need something to counter whatever villain winds up with the Gauntlet...

The Cube Vs the Gauntlet maybe?
