Could 2008 be the year?

I think is the year with the most comic book movies that were not dissapointments. if The Hulk is widely accepted then yeah this could be the year of the comic movie. I have faith in Batman , Hellboy and Spirit . Also thought Iron Man was good but dont know what to think about Punisher 2 yet.

2011 will be the best. Cap, Avengers, Batman 3. WOOT!

Something bother me about Captain America and Avengers coming out within months of each other. It's actually kind of cool though . I'll definately be hyped about the third Batman and Spiderman should be back around then .

I think we should all be giving thanks to the powers that be for giving us such a jam-packed year of superhero cinema. Even if some of the movies disappoint (and you know you can't please everyone), I for one am experiencing an absolute child-like giddiness at the summer which lies ahead. Because when I was a young boy and I picked up my first comic book, I NEVER imagined I'd be lucky enough to see basically all of my heroes on the big screen.

The best thing is that these are reasoned superhero movies. Or, to explain another way, they have all been carefully crafted after looking back on the hits and misses of the genre in recent years (whereas there is a certain element of hit and hope with most superhero flicks). Iron Man and The Dark Knight both are made in the Batman Begins/X-Men style of semi-realism. The Incredible Hulk is a direct response to the reception to 2003's Hulk, albeit a blatantly obvious response.

The genre is growing up. It's learning and improving.

The dude does look like the Punisher, certainly more so than Thomas jane or Dolph Lundgren. But the movie has 'straight-to-DVD' written all over it, it looks ass.

Real answer is: Too soon to tell.

Predicted answer: Not really. Iron Man is good, but not THAT good. The movie is a bit overrated. Hulk looks like crap. As for TDK...it looks awesome. So, in conclusion 2008 is just another year.

I think it is a great year for the superhero genre. We have a lot of variety in these films. Now whether the audience thinks so is another question.
