Could a Die Hard TV series actually work?

Considering they actually rebooted the Lethal Weapon film series into a TV series I wonder if they could do the same thing with Die Hard? Imagine a TV series with John McClane an NYPD detective always in the wrong place at the wrong time...trouble always seems to find him
