Iron Man Could Famke Janssen be in this movie?

and Jon always includes famke in his projects (Made,Dinner for five)
so do u guys think there is any chance famke will be in this movie?maybe as a love interest or something?

none of those characters are all in the same continuity. when you watch a marvel movie, you've got to think that these characters are all existing in the same universe. it's just.. wrong for characters to be playing other characters in same continuity.

God, I hope not. I love Famke to death (excellent X-woman actress), but she is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too old to start a new franchise. Hell, she looks every bit of 40+ now, and she hasn't been aging that gracefully. At all.

This is a fledgling franchise. They need a younger woman to play off Tony's (Robert's) character.

Um...comparing Famke's 40 to Halle and Salma's 40's is a bad idea. The latter women physically look like they're still in their late 20's/early 30's. Famke does not. Looking at her I'd say she was at least in her mid-forties. Now, that doesn't mean she lacks sex appeal--since sex appeal is not bound by age. But we're not talking about "hotness" here--that's not even what the thread's about.

We're talking about whether she'd have longevity with a new franchise which could span out till 2012 or beyond. A leading lady needs to have a combination of talents and sex appeal to sustain herself in such a role for that length of time. Famke's time has expired. No.

Halle looks 40 to me, at least I think, because I'm used to hearing it over and over and over again. It's imbedded in my mind so when I see her I think "40!”

As for Famke.. I think she looks great right now. In fact, she looked a lot younger in X3 than in X1. But still, I'd have to agree with Lighting... she wouldn't be a good choice in the long run.

No. It doesn't and it isn't.

I think you may be missing the point of your own thread. Neither Halle nor Salma are even thinking about Iron Man, there are no comparable characters in the Iron Man universe for them to be cast for, so remind me again of why we're discussing them? I realize you brought them up, but I don't see the relevance?

The question posed was whether Famke would fit in with this new franchise. You asked us what we thought and you're receiving feedback.

Dude. In her hey-day she was stunning. And even now she is still a beautiful woman. But she's aged.

It would not bode well for the franchise to cast someone like her for a major role considering that the series has to grow. At least with Iron Man there is room for Tony Stark to pass off his mantle to War Machine. If they cast Terrence Howard (or any other younger black actor in the role) they could feasibly use Robert Downey Junior for the first couple of films and then expand Iron Man to another actor down the road. But you're talking several years down the line.

Plus, Famke just doesn't have "it" for yet another Marvel franchise. It'd be redundant to have Jean Grey living in Tony's world too. Audiences would never go for it.

Her actual age number is inconsequential. How she looks physically is what's key here. She looks 40 at the very least. And there's nothing wrong with that. But I'm not going to sit here type that she looks 30-something when clearly her current physique and facial lines suggest something else.

I know it's shallow, but Hollywood and moviegoing audiences in general are caught up in sex appeal for leading ladies. That is a very important factor. And honestly, Hollywood bends the rules for male actors; that's why we still see the Denzels, Tom Cruises, and yes, Robert Downey Jr.'s still getting roles that actresses their age wouldn't even be considered for.

So it's great to look "hot" for one film. But the question is: will audiences and the studio still be keen on a near 50-year old Famke playing the same "hot" role for the third film? The answer is no.

Besides, I could be mistaken...but in terms of height I think Famke would dwarf RDJ. And we all know the Popye/Olive Oil match up isn't Hollywood's most sought after pairing these days.
