Mainly Elf and Zathura, both were comedies.

Zathura was not a comedy. Favreau is a great story teller and he wants to make iron man great... he already has a blog about the movie so people can get correct info

and... iron man need its own forum

I am cautiously optimistic.

The script with Howard Stark being the villain has been dumped. A new one is being written.

Really? Sweet! I'd love to get some confirmation that.

For the legendary superhero Iron Man, Jon Favreau will direct the film and develop the script with the writing team of Arthur Marcum and Matt Holloway (Convoy). Favreau's directing credits include "Elf" and "Zathura: A Space Adventure

From that I take it that they've dumped the old Howard Stark villain script and hired a new writing team along with Favreau to make a new script.

It will, as soon as things for the project start picking up. Like when Casino Royale got it's own forum when some newly lauched pics were posted.

I know it has. He was asking for the current script which I posted, though it was only the review. That script was written by Alfred Gough, David Hayter, and Miles Milliar. Where as the new one will be written by Arthur Marcum, and Matt Holloway.

Has anyone seen the casting thread Favreau made himself? Click here to check it out.

He was saying something close to that when talking about directing the film and using CGI in this interview.

Thats like the smartest thing I have ever heard a filmmaker say. Eli Roth said something like that also. He said its not a privelage, its a tool, and used correctly can have great results.

I Voted Yes, But Truth Be Told I'm On The Fence. I'd Like To See What He Has In Mind, But I Trust He'll Show Respect To Both The Character And Us.

I’m reading all of the comics. I haven’t gotten into CIVIL WAR, but I’m taking it one hunk at a time. I’m reading all of the old TALES OF SUSPENSE stuff is really interesting...There’s a lot of homework to do. You don’t have to adapt to the letter, but if you aren’t aware of the history of the character when you make decisions as a director I think it’s shortsighted. There is a base of fans that is incredibly invested in what the character ahs to offer, and to not take that into consideration would be irresponsible for me. I was hired by Marvel after all; it was a property that was optioned by a studio.

:)

Iron Man, Iron Man
Does whatever an iron can.
Presses pants, any size
Does your shirts and your ties
Hey there! There goes the iron man.

Same here. I think it's a step in a good direction, but I'm with holding my final opinion untill I see the finished film.

JF knows movies. C'mon guys...'Swingers' !!!
haven't seen Zthura but at least he's had his hands in SPFX before undertaking Stark Enterprises. I'm pumped. Think this is a great call, now we know we're seeing Tony taken care of. Loving it.

Indeed. Favreau understands what it takes to be a filmmaker, not to mention he's already doing his research on some of the comics despite already knowing alot about the character. This film is going to be a true epic.
