Could We Be Getting Gremlins 3D Soon?

I'd be okay with a reboot aswell, as long its more Gizmo I'm game for anything!
I can already see the teaser trailer:

[Black screen]

Trailer voice: THIS CHRISTMAS

YOU ONLY HAVE TO REMEMBER THREE THINGS

[quick flash of sunrays hitting snow]

NO SUNLIGHT

[quick flash of streaming water]

NO WATER

[quick flash of a cooked turkey]

AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING

[quick flash of a clock striking 12]

NO FOOD AFTER MIDNIGHT

[black screen]

fade in:
24/12/2014

They need to change that last rule. It makes no sense. It's always after midnight

i'm really torn on this, i really want a new gremlins film but a reboot could turn out so bad

i'm dreading some prat of studio insisting it should be dark, edgy realistic and full of cgi

even if they ever make this it won't have Jerry Goldsmith's music it may use his themes but it won't be the same feel without him.

I really want a third movie. A reboot is just not needed. I too am worried about the overuse of CGI and it losing the fun yet grim feel of the original

I so called this. It was only a matter of time.

I'm fine with a reboot , but please don't make it a remake.

What's the difference?

If they bring the Gremlins back, I hope they make it a big joke like they did in Gremlins 2. That is still one of my favorite movies of all time. I'm not a big fan of the first one.

See, I'm the complete opposite. I saw the first movie at the movies as a kid back in 84. Loved it. Had everything Gremlins, from the toys, storybooks and halloween costume to the cereal that tasted like Captain Crunch. Dante's directing ,combined with Chris Columbus Script and Chris Walas designs were PERFECT. The second movie was cool, but too corny for me. Broke the 4th wall too much. Plus I hated the way the gremlins were design. They look too big, arms too long, and had a " wet " amphibian look to them as opposed to the dry reptilian look from the first one. Plus Gizmo 's head and eyes were too big and he wasn't as cute as he was in the first one. I did dig the mutations though.

I'm satisfied with CHUD's interpretation.

Remake: A straight re-telling of a story for the purpose of updating it for a contemporary audience, or making it accessible to a different culture or region.

Reboot: A course correction done with the purpose of restarting a franchise. A reset. Fealty to the original story or film is not a priority.

Re-Imagining: A re-telling of a story, but only in the broadest sense. Characters and some story elements may be retained, but mostly plot and story have been repurposed.

Of course it's not exact. The new Carrie could be either of the first two, and there's no mention of 'adaptations'. Mostly it's prime material for movie nerds to grouse over, because we all know nerds suffer from a lack of things to argue about.

And here's a long-winded piece from a language academic - http://www.visualthesaurus.com/cm/dictionary/remakes-reboots-and-reimaginings/

Outside of the movie and nerd community, they're all remakes so it's kind of moot.

That's what I was getting at. It's ultimately just pointless jargon.
