Could We Be Getting Gremlins 3D Soon?

I think CG would be fine, but not for every gremlin. Mostly for certain shots or a combo for facial expressions a la Wild Things.

I think the only thing that could be used or CG is when there is a bunch of them, like the scenes in the first one with them running up the street or in the movie theater. If there is only a few in a scene it should be puppets. And perhaps digitally enhance the faces.

i think that's why Gizmo was so damn..cute; that he looked like a stuff animal and the animatronics really helped.

I'm sure people prolly wouldn't have thought that if they had read the original script.

In the original script Gizmo turns into Stripe. And was more horror related. The mom's head gets cut off and comes rolling down the stairs when Billy comes home. It's a lot more darker. They eat the family dog before turning into gremlins.

In the one version of the script he was suppose to be like 15 or so. Which what explain whu his best friend was a 14 year old. Plus I think he was more a less a bit younger like 17 or 18 and had just gotten out of high school, which is why he would go to the teacher at the school.

There was a scene of him drinking at a bar, and Phoebe Cates character actually worked at the bar, so I don't know if he was 17 or 18. Him going to the teacher at the school, I think it's just the fact that Kingston Falls is such a small community, the high school science teacher probably is about the closest scientific authority in the town.

The script for that has been online for ages.
In the movie Billys a little younger and swears alot more. and I guess you could say more of a nerd in D&D stuff. There is a scene with people at Mcdonald's eaten, but the food is untouched.

As far as I know it always has been. They first went around and looked for people to do 2 and couldn't find anyone and gave it to Dante and told him to do what he wanted.

And figured they couldn't top the first one, they did what they came up with. More a less mocking the first one and its rules in the second one.

Update: MTV spoke with Dante shortly after the rumor broke. According to the director - and this has been echoed in many interviews with him - "These things come up from time to time. I don't know of anything officially that's going on."

It's possible Warner Bros. is pursuing a threequel without Dante; then again, this could just be another rumor-mongering attempt to drum up traffic. Time will tell.

loved the gremlin films as a kid and still to this day. both are very classic movies. i hope its a sequel and not a reboot. if you cant have any of the original cast back at least talk about them or at least have a cameo appearance of any of them. As for series director joe dante i heard he has been against working for WB for a few yrs now. So i doubt he will be back. So hopefully this does turn out well.

As for puppets, hell yes. CGI only for things that can't be really done.

I first saw Gremlins 2 when my family rented it and I saw the other version(the one where there's some kind of shootout with the Gremlins) before the one with Hulk Hogan.

Funny thing is my sister was by the TV when that part happened and I thought she did something at first.

Ah, I doubt the movie will get made, been hearing rumors for years about it and still we've seen nothing. It'll probably get released around the same time as the Justice League.
