let me be the second one then. i loved when they started mutating. You ARE one, mother****er.
Let's give Gremlins 2 some love here. I loved it when they stopped the movie, and cut to Hulk Hogan sitting in a movie theater getting p*ssed off!
Gremlins and Gizmo were like one of my favorite things growing up.
I had the stuffed Gizmo and almost any of the other stuff a young kid back then would have.I had a Gremlins backpack and lunchbox in 5th grade.![]()
This post is full of win. If they do make a part three, I hope it's puppets and it stays as satirical as possible.Gremlins 2 was awesome. Christopher Lee, the talking Gremlin, the female Gremlin all over Robert Picardo, John Glover as Mr Clamp, the Gremlins singing 'New York, New York', The bat gremlin and spider gremlin, Gizmo going Rambo etc.
Greatness.
Eventually, all successful franchises will probably get a reboot. Its simply a matter of when. The notion of rebooting Gremlins has been kicked around for a while, and Vulture is reporting that Warner Bros. is in talks with Steven Spielbergs Amblin Entetainment to reboot the 1984 horror comedy. Of course, there are tons of caveats: these negotiations have been on and off for years, Spielberg wants too much money, and his creative input would be required. Nevertheless, Vultures sources say it might just actually come off this time. The website didnt specify why this time would be any different, and how anything has substantially changed.
So there you have it: a Gremlins reboot could possibly happen at some point in the future. Thankfully, this means we currently dont have to fret at the prospect of some hacky director coming along to create CGI gremlins that lack the fun and chaotic energy director Joe Dante brought to the original films.
Claude Brodesser-Akner said:Bright light! Bright light! Our sources tell us that, in keeping with Hollywoods mandated pop culture recycling program, Warner Bros. Pictures is negotiating with Steven Spielbergs Amblin Entertainment to reboot their 1984 horror comedy, Gremlins.
Were also told negotiations of this sort have happened several times over the years, but making Spielbergs deal always proved too daunting a financial prospect and his involvement might simply be a requirement for making the film at all, so dont hold your breath. Having said all of that, our sources tell us that it might just actually come off this time. This wouldnt be something Spielberg would direct, of course he only executive produced the original, with Joe Dante behind the camera but it never hurts to have the Great Mans name on your project. A Spielberg spokesman said that the appropriate executives were not available for comment. Well keep you updated
