any major change to a character ... same thing. make a different hero. no P Diddy Bond. no Halle Berry corny ass Catwoman. no Jack Black Green Lantern. stay true to whatever the character or make a new character. they shouldn't try to change existing characters into something they're not in their (the execs) bid to suck as much money from the moviegoers as possible.

Look at Daniel Craig's actual comments - he is NOT saying, "I want Bond to be gay" he is clearly replying to a question from a reporter who has asked him, "Would it be okay is 007 kissed a man?" and Craig can only answer yes to avoid, "Bond star hates gays!" headlines.
