things seriously. But does try his hardest to do
what he can to save the day when it comes
down to it (like the Human Torch).

Michael Holt /Mr. Terrific: He is a brillaint scientist who can easily
grasp almost any of the complexities of the universe, and build almost
whatever he needs (just like Reed Richards).
(Either Mr. Terrific or Batman, since its said that Batman is the smartest
man in DC and Reed is the Smartest Man in Marvel.)

Not sure about this one, what DC female character started out as weak but became a strong woman over the coarse of time? Elasti-Girl perhaps? Carrol Ferris/Star Saphire? Any ideas?
(Sue Storm started out as a sort of weak woman, not helpless but sort of held back in the comics.)
