DC Animation Creature Commandos - Animated Series

Ugh, was hoping this would be on Crave in Canada but no dice. Doesn’t look like it’ll be available up here (at least not for a bit).

Really enjoyed the first two episodes. How many is it going to be again for the whole season?

I found the first 2 episodes to be ok. Nothing really "WOW" levels. It seemed like a lowkey music video with all the music.

Not sure what is up with Circe and calling herself an Amazon....they clearly aren't officially part of Mans World yet and partially still a myth so trying to disparage their name is....interesting

Enjoyed it. Definitely has some TVMA worthy moments. Will keep watching for sure!

That was OK. Incredibly random project to start the DCU with though. Really just feels like a left-over Suicide Squad spin-off.
That’s probably a symptom of it being heavily in development before the DCU was even an idea.

No opinion on the show, haven’t seen, but it feels like that cause it is. TSS and Peacemaker are functionally the starts of the DCU.

Of course they are.

I mean, aside from that cameo in the Peacemaker season finale and even with some actors from the old Suicide Squad cast returning, Gunn's previous DC productions pretty much danced to their own tune to begin with.

I'm really happy to jump right into Gunn's DCU with these wacky characters and a series that is (for obvious reasons) wildly different from the upcoming Superman, while still existing in the same world.

Just like in the comics. And as a long time comic book reader and fan, I'm in seventh heaven!

Circe and the”Bride” need to be in live action. Great power set and they seem to be powerful female characters. The actresses playing the characters could also pull them off flawlessly on the big screen in my opinion. Flagg Sr was not what I was expecting. Some of the mature scenes kind of turned me off. This show will be a controversial beginning to the DCU for sure but a few critics say the middle episodes are the best and the ending is fine.

Yeah, I have no interest in the DCU but the one aspect I like is that, being Gunn, a bunch of super unique characters will get their time in the spotlight as opposed to just the (often comparatively boring - **** The Flash and GL, gimme Booster Gold and Animal Man) big names.

Not really left over. It openly builds upon both The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.
Yeah, fair on both accounts. I couldn't get through Peacemaker though I enjoyed TSS. I wish it felt like a cleaner break with the DCEU admittedly.

The point I was trying to make is that James Gunn's stuff never really felt like it was part of the DCEU to begin with, despite some familiar faces popping up.

So TSS and Peacemaker were already a clean break. And this is another big step into the new direction, being the official start of the new DCU.

Hmm, that is a good way to look at it admittedly. Though, I think the whole thing with TSS not being canon and Peacemaker 99% is confusing. Guess it was a teaser of what to expect.

The original plan was for the new DCU actors was for the roles to be played by the same actors across multiple medium types so whos cast in this will be playing them in live action if they crossover. It caused a big stink in VA world.

Which were both DCEU projects as was this originally.....Id say thats pretty left over. Luckily they could rewrite enough.
