Doom Patrol Doom Patrol TV Show Greenlit

I loved the first episode, this is so much better than Titans. (Low bar, I know, but still) I'm really glad they never do crossovers and keep the shows seperate...

Some of the CGI didn't look great, but I didn't really mind it. Didn't take me out of enjoying the episode.

I still dont understand how DP does SO MUCH with CGI and makeup and all Titans can do is let Garth turn into a Tiger for a couple of seconds. Not even a green one at that anymore.

I think Doom Patrol has to have a bigger budget... Because, yeah everything looks so much better/more creative. I think we only got one tiger scene so far this season on Titans. I can imagine we would be seeing the "real" Beast Boy if he was part of Doom Patrol.

This show has always been in a league of its own IMO, especially compared to Titans and I'm glad to say that the quality of it still remains as consistant as ever just going by the first three episodes of Season 3.

This is off to such a great start so far between the introduction of the Dead Boy Detectives which is actually a spinoff I want to see at some point and the addition of the always awesome and insanely beautiful Michelle Gomez.

Edwin Payne is played by David Tennant's son Ty. And IMDB lists him in all the rest of the episodes.

I wouldn’t put too much stock into that. IMDB isn’t a picture of reliability in that area.

Classic Top Gear style intro:

TONIGHT: Diane Guerrero eats ass, but not the way you fantasized! Michelle Gomez plays a time traveler, again! Mark Shepard is in love with a ghost horse! And zombie ass monsters!

Yeah this show is insane, and I love it :applaud
Them ramdomly being zombies half of the episode :funny:

This show just keeps getting better and better while Titans only continues to get worse. Man do I wish that show had this quality level of writing when it comes to those characters.

Doom Patrol has great character work but…doesn’t anyone feel the show is a bit aimless. I dunno, maybe it’s just me but I’m kind of not totally feeling this season so far. It’s way better written than any of the CW stuff sans Stargirl and the garbage that is Titans but…it’s just often times feels like nothing is really happening. I really think there needs to be a overarching bad guy like we got in season 1 with Nobodyman. Does anyone else feel this way?

I think that if you are a fan of this show it is mainly for the character work. The personal journeys have always been the main focus, and anyway I think season 2 actually felt a bit more "loose" than the current one.

Season 4's official, yessssss

This storyline's getting a wee bit too weird and not in a good way.

Did I miss something from the earlier episodes or have they not explained what the Eternal Flaggelation actually is?

It's been mentioned a few times. But not specifically described (I don't think). Something to do with "Piffle Paffle" and the Dada Sisterhood's master plan...?

They need to get Beastboy back in the team.

Well maybe he can replace Cyborg, seeing how the last episode ended... (Yes I realize we would miss out on their friendship) I don't want the Beastboy from Titans though. It can be the same actor, but I would like to see a different version of the character. Like I'm sure they would've made him at least green on Doom Patrol. (I'm not counting that episode of Titans, there was a different Nyles in that anyway)

I also support the idea of a different Beast Boy, but I’d like to see a different actor. Beast Boy is poorly written, but Ryan Potter could inject more personality and wit into the character than he has. Beast Boy is arguably the most disappointing character in Titans.

How is it that after 9 episodes, they are worse off then last season? It's almost impressive how bad things can get for them.

Just finished S3 and, as fond as I am of the show… am I the only one who doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the underground anymore?

Like, I feel like there has to be better material for Diane Guerrero than just having a bunch of alternate personalities regularly gang up on Jane and tell her she sucks.

On the bright side, I’m loving Michelle Gomez and am glad she seems to be sticking around.
