Crisis on Infinite Earths (Animated Trilogy?)

I watched Part 1 for the first time on Max today, it was meh IMO.

Sounds like Part 2 is worth waiting for a Max release too.

I bet the Kevin Conroy thing in part 3 is him just saying a couple of lines, a cameo...

Anyway, yeah this was bad. It's boring. Way too much screentime for Psycho Pirate's past which they should've used for other characters.

You can tell that it's cheap because the worlds are empty. (Plus the crappy animation of course) Also that preview clip they released is basically false advertising, that's not what you're getting at all.

Part 1 was a lot better than this, which wasn't great either... I really hope we get a reboot after part 3, I don't think I've really liked any movie of this current universe. They range from "bad" to "just okay."

It's really sad that we have 97 out right now and fans looking to piece it together to the MCU overall and how it shares certain things....

And then we have this...that is so half-asced and should be taking all of the major DC animated projects and allowing them to interact but....

It's so disappointing because it's just so boring. Tommorrowverse has been so disappointing for me outside of The Long Halloween

I just rewatched Superman: Man of Tomorrow; I though that was a fun start to this whole universe.

Looks suitably epic... I definitely not getting my hopes up about the Conroy/Hamill stuff. I'm guessing it'll be very brief.

Part 1 focused on the Flash, Part 2 focused on Batman & Psycho Pirate, and Part 3 should be on Superman & Supergirl.

The only thing I want to see is the appearances of past cartoons.

Huh? Pt.2 definitely had a heavy focus on Kara

Bought Part Two a few days ago, currently watching. I just haven't been a big fan of Tomorrowverse, aside from the first Superman film/Long Halloween. They feel so cheap/lifeless, musical scores are just very meh/non-existant, sound effects... designs... not doing it for me. And it may be they just don't have the budget to do what they want, I don't know.

Hopefully Gunn's DC animated stuff slaps. Creatures Commandos already looks interesting enough.

I watched Pt.3

Overall it is the strongest of the 3 films.

I'd rank them 3/1/2....3 brought in some interesting concepts since it's throwing out a lot of the original comic and just hitting the "iconic" moments. 2 was a waste of time that totally needs re-worked and felt like it didnt prop up 3 the way it should have.

Some basic spoilers

    • DC52DTV-verse is THEE main animated universe. When Barry reset time in Apokolips, it created the multiverse and brought about the anti-monitor. Constantine made Barry into a death machine who was supposed to kill baby Darkseid and it essentially created a universe w/him and a universe w/out him.
    • Diana has been missing for 8 months, floating as frozen block in space. She's found by her man, Hawkgirl, Superman/Lois and brought to the home base.
    • All of the remaining Earths have been hiding in "The Bleed"
    • Luthor rats out their location to the Anti-Monitor so he can spare his Earth and also find a weakness
    • We see Superfriends Earth get decimated as they all stand there silenty.
    • We see DCAU Earth get decimated as Joker/Batman fight one last time and the JL watch the end come - Jon/Shayera have one last kiss
    • We see the Teen Titans tower but no characters
    • Thats all for the animated tv shows. Basically 2seconds for Superfriends, 40seconds for DCAU, 1 second for Titans.
    • Supergirl sacrifices herself to kill the Anti-Monitor but we learn it was for nothing as there are infinite Anti-Monitors
    • There's a device that can create 1-singular Earth and merge everyone but they need a sacrifice to charge it
    • Diana chooses to be that sacrifice as her immortality can power it and she always watches everyone around her die
    • Everyone gets transported to the new Earth
    • We end the film on young Diana playing around on Themiscryia as Hippolyta reminds her that not even Princesses are immortal

Michael Borkowski storyboarded the Kevin Conroy sequence.

Truth be told, I'm going to have to let the movie sit with me for a little while before crafting a more thoughtful review. Part One is still my favorite of the trilogy and this still maintains a lot of the flaws that plagued all Tomorrowverse movies. However, it was still a mostly satisfying end to this continuity.

Of course, the Conroy scene is what will stay with me the most. He sounded as excellent as ever and poured quite a lot of emotion into a powerful/perfect line of dialogue. Kevin Conroy will always be the definitive Batman actor to me and it was lovely to see him voicing the B:TAS version one final time.

Still hard to believe that he is gone, taking this version of Batman with him, but what a wonderful tribute this final scene was.

Curious. Does Superman have any significant role in this film?

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed all three parts of this trilogy. As someone who has never read the comics and has only seen the CW crossover for any kind of reference, I definitely appreciated the darker tone.

This was bleak as hell which I'm sure won't be for everybody and I wish we saw more of the other multiverse characters but I'm honestly very intrigued to see what happens next in this universe.

That scene between BTAS Batman and Joker made me cry with joy! That line from Conroy.

My only problem with the scene was that Joker did not sound like Hamill at all despite being listed in the credits.

Better than part 2 but still felt like a chore to get through. Only good things to me were Matt Ryan as Constantine and Conroy and Hamill's small scene.

Glad this universe is done with. Started out good and quickly went to ****.
