Some promotional art leaked out and it appears like the game is going to be announced soon, so I went ahead and preemptively made a thread for it.

I liked Crysis 1 and 2 so I'm looking forward to this. Anytime a game includes a bow gets me really excited.

Oh lord i hope so. Enjoyed both games. Liked the 2nd one much more though.

It strikes me as odd that the dude is wearing a fancy armored suit that probably cost hundreds of millions of dollars in research and development and production, but he's fighting with a weapon from the stone age.

Didn't play the first, but I enjoyed the second. Looking forward to more news.

It's about time they show this game. I thought they had forgotten about it.

Well, to be fair...that does look like a high tech bow.

Not exactly made of wood and string.

Still have both games to play through. Haven't beaten Crysis 1 yet, but what I played was damn fun.

Crysis 3 will be out sometime in 2013.

Press release:
The hunted becomes the hunter! Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and award-winning developer Crytek GmbH, today announced Crysis® 3, the premier sandbox shooter experience of 2013. Powered by Crytek’s proprietary CryENGINE®, Crysis 3 advances the state of the art with unparalleled visuals and dynamic shooter gameplay. Players take on the role of ‘Prophet’ as he returns to New York, only to discover that the city has been encased in a Nanodome created by the corrupt Cell Corporation. The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers. Within the Liberty Dome, seven distinct and treacherous environments become known as the Seven Wonders. This dangerous new world demands advanced weapons and tactics. Prophet will utilize a lethal composite bow, an enhanced Nanosuit and devastating alien tech to become the deadliest hunter on the planet.

“Crysis 3 is a thrilling mix of sandbox gameplay, advanced combat and hi-tech human and alien weaponry that shooter fans will love,” said Cevat Yerli, Chief Executive Officer of Crytek. “Leveraging the latest CryENGINE technology, we’re able to deliver seven unique themes that offer stunning and visually loaded gameplay experiences. We cannot wait until people get their hands on the game.”

Set in 2047, Prophet is on a revenge mission after uncovering the truth behind Cell Corporation’s motives for building the quarantined Nanodomes. The citizens were told that the giant citywide structures were resurrected to protect the population and to cleanse these metropolises of the remnants of Ceph forces. In reality, the Nanodomes are CELL’s covert attempt at a land and technology grab in their quest for global domination. With Alien Ceph lurking around every corner and human enemies on the attack, nobody is safe in the path of vengeance. Everyone is a target in Prophet’s quest for retribution.

I'm excited, especially after reading the latest GameReactor issue, I was a bit nonchalant since it's set in NYC again but I do like the sound of Crytek aiming to make the game an "urban rainforest", and besides the bow, they've mentioned you can use weapons from the Ceph.

Oh, and here's the cover and some pics.

I'm glad they're doing another game. Single player was great. MP was interesting although I was awful at it.

Interesting, going with a hybrid of an industrial landscape and jungle setting.

Now just bring Warhead to the Consoles in the mean time

I'm actually replaying Crysis 2 right now, so this is cool. I enjoy the game, but personally, I enjoy the first half more - once the Ceph come around it kinda looses its luster for me a bit (combat wise). They're just too cartoony. I greatly prefer picking off the Cell Agents.

Yea i think I'm with you man. The Ceph weren't as cool as i thought they were going to be when i first played the game.

I'm gald they're doing another game, but I was hoping we'd visit another locations.
NYC again? Didn't we save it by the end of the second game? Wasn't there a similar kind of threat in many other locations in the world?

I thought we would be going to Russia, Japan, France, England and many other different places with this one.

I still haven't even touched the second one (my brother bought it and played it), but I've started the first one and watched him play a decent bit of the second. This sounds like it could combine both games in a way. Which sounds great to me. The first one had this sort of Rambo feel to it because of the setting, with the other one sort of reminding me of a superhero-genre with the powers and the city landscape. And The Predator, too. Mostly that.

Getting sections that are all jungle, and sections that all city, and then sections that are both sounds like a great concept. A nice way to mix things up.

Predator 1 & 2 even! :word::csad:

But concrete jungle is Crysis 2, for Crysis 3 a fitting term would be urban rainforest, I mean they've mentioned areas featured in the game from dense swamp lands to rainforest with overgrown trees with ruins here and there, rocky canyons, river and places that has sands and such. The seven wonders that'll be in the game each one will be very different environmentally from each other, basically more rainforest than concrete.

I really can't wait to see NY covered in forrest. Thats gonna be so damn cool.

But concrete jungle is Crysis 2

No, Crysis 3 is going to be a literal concrete jungle. We'll have concrete and on top of that, there will be jungle. Urban Rainforest sounds good too tho.

Well you make a point of saying it's a literal concrete jungle but I'm sticking to it, I like it, heck even the press release stated this:

The New York City Liberty Dome is a veritable urban rainforest teeming with overgrown trees, dense swamplands and raging rivers.

I mean, with concrete jungle the buildings are the "trees". In Crysis 3 the vegetation of the plants and trees will overtake the concrete to the point you don't see much of the concrete, it's more of a rainforest with different environments, water, sand etc and the concrete isn't much there, it's still NYC, but yet, not.

Can't believe it took this long for prophet to get his own story for a game oh well better late then never. you'd think he'd be running the whole show since the first game every one higher up then from the first game were killed.
