They haven't been doing things right for awhile. You just really wanted to ignore that fact. I say this as someone who adored them for a decade. But what they became after TW3 started becoming more and more clear a while ago now. When how bad the crunch was during TW3 came out, I get why fans wanted to just buy their word on it. But treating stuff like that as if it was a minor inconvenience is exactly how these companies get away with crap like this down the line. They have been lying about this game over and over again for at least a year. They lied about crunch, which has been happening on this game for years. They have been petty on the internet for years when it came to the LGBTQ community and minority groups expressing concerns and now they are busy being petty about Sony and reviews. That is before we get into the review fiasco.
They are what every major videogame company is. A place with a bunch of really cool people working on a game, who answer to absolute ********s.
Yeah, I doubt that. High end PC have loading screens. The new consoles are powerful, but aren't that powerful. That said, they can reduce this stuff with proper optimization. Bloodborne launched with rather long loading screens. Somewhere between 30 seconds to a minute depending on where you were trying to go. Now they are all under 10 seconds. So improvements can definitely be made.
I was hoping for some good EDM, but so far its been meh. The score in general has been meh too. There's some somber leitmotifs that I like, but that's about it. I was sick of the action music after about the 100th time it kicked in randomly while I was walking around the city.

I doubt there was no crunch before Witcher 3. Especially considering how troubled the production of Witcher 2 was. And Witcher 3 was smooth sailing in comparison. It was just brought up when a company becomes "insolent" enough to be seen as a standard or something to look up to. This extra scrutiny was inevitable. And I'm not burying my head in sand, I just don't care. I can't be hypocritical about it, because I knew about constant issue of crunch within the industry for more than 2 decades, almost as long as I play games. Since late 90s I read about stories how companies are almost always out of time and have to finish projects by sleeping in the office. All those "making of" documentaries of how people are frustrated and tired and they need to finish the project and they're out of time. For me it became a norm in the industry that final months on any game is almost a mandatory crunch period. Hence when CDPR announced they're entering crunch mode, it wasn't a shock to my system.
Doesn't mean that CDPR did everything right and then stopped doing so. But among the industry, they did a lot of things right. And I preferred focusing on that. On the inspiring things. So it's really sad and at the same time bizarre to see what they're doing now. In the back of my mind I always accepted the idea that one day CDPR will become big enough that being rebels and going their own way will be secondary to loud promises and income at any cost. It won't be the first company like that. Maybe it already happened, earlier than I anticipated, or maybe they will do something to fix their spoiled reputation and will try to implement at least part of the promises into 77.
I have been watching a few vids on the actual gameplay and physics of this game. And wow its like this game is from 10 years ago. (no water affects/physics, can go around breaking light poles with a pipe, can not break windows on cars..ect..ect..ect..) On top of that combat looks... way over powered in the payers favor.
I am pretty sure this game at one point was supposed to be in 3rd person.. something just seems way off
You get videos where at times this game looks amazing, but then you get gameplay that makes this game look like utter trash.
I am very shocked this is not on sale for like 50% or more off. Hard to choose this over ACV, WD3 or even fenyx rising (which I think looks to cartoony) which are all on sale.
So to those who play it... is it even enjoyable? (I am on XBSX)
I played only a few hours (on PC), but it's enjoyable if you like CDPR games (or story-focused games in general). Means it's very good at delivering narrative, it's gorgeous, but gameplay is a bit of second thought. It does the job, but there's nothing to write home about. The worst part for me was looting system and interface - very clunky, traditionally so for CDPR.
There are some bugs and glitches, but it's very much playable on PC and next-gen consoles. It was only really bad on last gen.

Glitches aside, everything related to gameplay from quest design to controls is bad. AI is borderline non-existent. This game needed at least another year and a half of development time and competent quest designer.
This game has way too many load screens. It really ****s up the immersion and pace at the worst times. I dont remember Witcher 3 having nearly as many load screens during the main story.
Maybe because I only did roaming, but I didn't have many loading screens other than the initial one after launching the game, and when re-loading an earlier save (I'm a save scummer). I also rarely used the fast travel points for immersion reasons.
Loading times were about 10 seconds or less, sometimes even 2-3 seconds and that's on a non-NVMe SSD.
I read somewhere awhile ago someone post, "If I wasn't on the internet, I would've thought this game was getting highpraise." Honestly, I'm in a variation of that camp. I think I'm one of the "lucky few" who this game actually works for as intended. If I weren't on the forums, seeing the videos posted by others and what they're experiencing, I would have a hard time believing we were playing the same game.
So far I've logged about 30 hours into it and am so disheartened to know this properties fate. This definitely should've been a game that was "one for the ages" and praised for years to come. There was so much potential here...I know it was made for current gen systems but, they were too ambitious to a certain extent. I think they wanted to give players a meaty/packed experience for their money and, somewhere, they focused on/bit off way more than they could chew.
Judging off of everything I've experienced, I've taken full advantage of Night City. I've interacted with a lot of characters, done various "Fixer" gigs and have built the relationships you're able to with characters by fleshing through dialog and seeing to carrying out tasks they ask of you. Some of these characters in here are favorites: Judy, Panam, Evelyn, Johnny Silverhand, Jackie...the list is mostly comprised of the "main cast" and I like that. Each character is a scene stealer in their own right.
I just played the part where...
Judy finds Evelyn in her bathtub after committing suicide. Holy s**t, I can't even remember the last time a video game successfully hit such an emotional beat. (And so effectively, might I add. I think that's one saving grace of an RPG, if we can call this game that, is it gives ample time to develop the cast and draw a connection for the player. Everything about this part was absolutely masterful...the animations were effective, the voice acting great, and the music beat kicked on at the perfect time when I was picking up Evelyn's limp body.
Wow...
This will definitely be a moment in gaming I'll remember for years to come. I watched a few others play the scene online and really loved how cinematic my experience looked compared to the other outcomes. I read in the comments that this game has some endings that will hit you hard in the feels and, if it's anything like this moment, I'm going to probably be gutted when the credits role.
I really hope people are able to give this game a second chance. I've been in the dark with everything going on...I also didn't have any stock in the game from a fan standpoint. My friend showed me the announcement trailer back in 2012 and I was like, "Meh, I'll check it out eventually." He's really big into the Cyberpunk aesthetic and wow, I am too now. I can't believe what I've been missing out exploring this mythology. (Is that the right term?)
I think if "No Man's Sky" can make the incredible comeback it has made, I'm fully confident that Cyberpunk may be able to make the same. It just matters on how hard Projekt Red wants to work for it/put their undoings in the past and try to move forward with the lessons learned. They do have a lot they need to fix as this game is far from perfect...
I have my complaints, as do others, in regards to the A.I., controls, mission structure, and a few other things but, like I said, from what I've experienced I can look over most of that. This story has been really engaging from the beats/flow in which I've selected things to transpire. I'm completely enthralled with where it may all go.
After plugging 80 hours into this over the holiday season and finishing the main campaign with at least most endings, I feel like I can comfortably say I really like this game that definitely should not have been released this year. It's missing features they said it'd have, and it's clearly unpolished in spots, but I did have a really good time with it. It's an interesting experience where walking down the street, I find some absolutely stunning visuals...
...and then I round the corner and find this:
It definitely could have used some more work, but I think the characters and main plotline are very solid. Some of the side missions are really just as engaging, if not moreso, and I'm glad I took the time to go through them all. Even some of the smaller ones add a lot of character, notably Machine Gun. The Cyberpsycho one though feels notably unfinished. It's long, several boss-type fights, requires going to every corner of the map... and then at the end it's just kind of a shrug despite setting it up like there'd be something there. The choice to lock the four romanceable characters into only being interested one way sounds fine in theory...except for the fact there's only four, which makes it feel a bit lacking. I think doing the idea would work better with more options for people.
One big thing I want patched in though is a new game+ mode. I want to play it again, but I'm not thrilled about spending tens of hours finding the clothing items and weapons again when the game is based on a looting system, making it random if I can find them again.
Tried it out for kicks the other night for a few hours ( trying to hold off until the SX version is released)..
Either my tv.. Sony xbr850c sucks for this game (it's ok, but want to upgrade some day) or in game settings are off...
Spent 45 minutes last night going over all my tv sdr and HDR settings and then doing the same on the XbSx itself and then adjusting HDR settings in the game itself..
While I got it to look better.. most of the time it looks washed out.. grey...and does not pop like screen shots I see. I also found myself hating the over use of red in this game.
I turned off film grain and the next below that.. can not remember the name off the top of my head.
As for in game HDR settings .
Peek brightness is 900
Paperwhite is 300 ( trying to reduce the annoying red menu)
The other option have set to like 0.6 or so..I move this around ...still not satisfied.
Play on Quality mode as well.
Just stumped ..maybe it is just the way the game is... Just does not look good
Besides that don't get me started on the driving lol.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. If CD Projekt RED can patch the hell out of the game, add back in missing features, etc. I would love to give the game a try. It seems like all of my favourite developers have been falling from grace in the last few years: BioWare (victim of the EA curse), Valve (stopped making games and a lot of their all-stars have left), Bethesda Game Studios (single-player RPG developer pushed into MMO territory), Arkane, MachineGames, Crystal Dynamics/Eidos Montreal, and now CD Projekt RED.
At least Valve is back making games and has made a new Half-Life entry no less... And I recently discovered the joys of IOI's Hitman reboot series. However, all told, it feels like the field of developers whose projects I get get excited about has narrowed a great deal.
So I read that this game suffers from and HDR issue. Which may or may not have been patched (?).
Playing on SX. And the game always looked.. washed out. I was not impressed at all at the visuals of this game.
I saw some people had some luck changing the color space on the XbSx to RGB. I tried this and wow.. where did this game come from? Lol. Looks so much better. Just throwing that out there for others if they have graphic issues.
Can't wait to play Cyberpunk 2077 Definitive "Brought to you by mods" Edition...
-edit- Oops, forgot that this board is PG-rated... So there's a command line that activates romance option with Judy as Male V... And it's actually fully voiced.
