World Daily Diaries

Dear Diary,

Thinking of Christmas saddens me. :(
Going through the receipts from all the Christmas shopping brought me to tears. :( :cmad:
I'm going to have to deal with my credit card bills.

I better get something good or heads will roll.:cmad:

It's all this commercialism that really brings me down at Christmas. The holiday is supposed to be about celebrating the birth of Christ and sharing that love with your family. I don't think it should involve going broke just to buy a bunch of stuff. :( It should be more like Thanksgiving where everyone gathers for a meal and some quality time, not about gifts.

I agree. I've spent more or less around $850 in total, I'm not sure how much would that be in US dollars but still. :cmad:
Christmas is better for little children and infants. From personal experience, it is about the warmth of family togetherness plus the excitement of opening the presents.
It's karma now. It's the unspoken secret of Christmas.
I would imagine this is what most adults is thinking during Christmas:
'Yes. Enjoy tearing up those presents, while you still can you little rascals. It won't be long until it's your turn to suffer.'*insert maniacal sinister laughter here*:cmad:

:woot:

LOL, I suppose that's true. You gotta hope that as a parent, the kids remembered enough of how much they enjoyed presents to pass that on to their own kids. It's just that it's such an expensive holiday when it really needent be.

Very very true. What I do is have my family make Jesus a birthday cake on Christmas Eve and we talk about why we give gifts. I really do love Christmas and the good feelings it brings. To bad it is so comercial. As a parent I kinda find myself getting stressed because I ask myself "did I get them enough...will they like this or that...." But then I calm down and realize just what this season is about.

I know the bills are rising, and the stress is up there too, but try and have fun! :oldrazz:

it's a made-up holiday that celebrated the winter solistice and had a big feast for the pagean god that brought it about every year. then the Catholic church said "No more!!" to this and decided it was going to userp the holiday and make it all about Jesus.

wanna know where Santa comes from!?

Dear Diar,

So I went to the doctor because of all this foot pain I've been having since Rugby Camp. And apparently I bruised my 1st metatarsal http://catalog.nucleusinc.com/imagescooked/4183W.jpg. This really really sucks because if its not better by January 2nd, I cant play rugby. And I cant condition and run because that would just make it worse :down

Dear Diary,
I must make a confession and say that i was on the other line yesterday, listening to my mom and brother talk over the phone. i now know what he got me for christmas :(

Dec 20

he Plan:
we'd leave at 4:30 am for the airport, arrive at 5, and leave at 6. we'd arrive at Dallas-Ft. Worth and have a layover for 2 hours, eat breakfast then leave for California. we'd arrive and have lunch. all would be well.

The Reality:
so, i recruited Ryan to stay up and keep me company online during the whole time that i would be awake. since we were going to leave at 4:30 i didn't plan on sleeping that night. but that airport and mother nature decided to make my mom's birthday trip horrible. first of all, there was a thunderstorm in Dallas and the flight from Austin to Dallas got delayed. so, i could've slept that night. ah well, it didn't happen. so, once we do get on the now delayed plane, there's still a no-fly rule both in and out of the Dallas-Ft Worth airport. so we sit in the plane for an hour and a half. so, the plane takes off and lands. our connecting flight left before we arrived. OH JOY!! so, we go and get our tickets changed to a new flight and leave. arrive in California and find out that our luggage is on the next flight to arrive. we get a luggage about an hour after we arrived. isn't that a nice day?

by the by, it was also my mom's 44 b-day and i hadn't slept in HOURS! by the time the night was over, i hand't slept for 36 hours.
