There is a reason they still make the Simpsons.Yeah, I'm kind of surprised they're still soldiering on after the whole Roiland fiasco. Like I figured they would still go through to season 10 or whatever to fulfill that huge contract they previously had but is this still really that much of a cash cow for them? I tapped out after season 6 and I feel like a whole lot of other people did too.
This is true, but The Simpsons doesn't have a creator/EP/voice actor who was also an abuser that got fired from the show. Though I suppose Adult Swim needs new episodes of Rick and Morty more than Disney/Fox need new episodes of shows long past their prime like The Simpsons and Family Guy, at least until something else like Smiling Friends eclipses it in popularity. There is a reason they still make the Simpsons.
Did they not fire the sex pest? This is true, but The Simpsons doesn't have a creator/EP/voice actor who was also an abuser that got fired from the show. To me it seems like the merch demand for Rick and Morty has slowed significantly over the last couple of years (I remember seeing the Funko Pops on clearance forever) but looking into it, it still pulls in solid streaming numbers which makes sense. It still feels like the show's popularity peaked pre-Covid, around the time of that whole McDonald's Szechuan sauce debacle.Did they not fire the sex pest?
Either way, the show's power is in it's merch. As long as they're printing cash there, they're good. I also assume it has a heavy presence on Max.
