Dan Radcliffe to play Igor in Frankenstein!

I think the Penny Dreadful version is the best version of the creature that I've seen.

I've been looking forward to the Frankenstein movie since I first read about the pitch, but it just seems too Hollywoody with spectacles and CGI effects for my tastes.

Looks okay to me. Love the leads, so I will give it a chance.

I read the script to this and it's not that great but I like the cast so I hope it'll be more entertaining than what I read.

It looks to be on similar level, but whatever.

I know director Paul McGuigan has done a lot of Sherlock, but has he ever directed a hit movie? His other big movies were Wicker Park and Lucky Number Slevin, don't really recall they hit it off.

As someone who knows the basic story of Frankenstein, and hasn't seen any of the Frankenstein movie or Penny Dreadful, it still looks kind of meh. It seems like a mix between Downey Jr.'s Sherlock and Van Helsing, and I wasn't a fan of either. However, the cast is good, McAvoy is always good, Radcliffe seems to keep getting better by every film, so maybe it can be decent. And not to mention, half of Sherlock's cast is in this, so I am optimistic.

Yaaaaas.

McAvoy looks like he just woke up on that new poster.

The quick shots of the reanimated chimpanzee or whatever it is looks pretty nuts. A good mix of practical and digital effects. I wish this hadn't been pushed back to Thanksgiving.

UK trailer is definitely better.

Looked cool. Felt like every line they delivered was followed by a quip of some sort. Hope the whole flick isn't full of that.

The trailer definitely wasn't what I was expecting. It feels more like Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes and Man From U.N.C.L.E. than just another retread of the Frankenstein legend. Its more of an action comedy then tortured victorian horror flick. Its an interesting perspective to come at the story from.

The UK's 1st half of the trailer is definitely what I've been anticipating for.

Why is it interesting?

Honestly, if this didn't star the people it does, I would think it looked like garbage. As it is, I'm curious what they saw in it, but I don't have very high hopes.

Eh, I mean at the end of the day, Frankenstein can be classified as classic literature and horror material. I imagine the paycheck plus playing opposite each other brought McAvoy and Radcliffe to the table, plus Landis being a buzz-worthy writer when they signed on
