Dan Radcliffe to play Igor in Frankenstein!

Radcliffe better stick to nude theatre roles and Harry Potter appearances.

I don't get the hype that surrounds Radcliffe, he's an okay actor at best and doesn't have a particular good screen presence. Seems like a nice dude but I will be shocked if he does anything of real note outside of Harry Potter.

I wasn't even aware there was hype surrounding Radcliffe. He's been taking on mostly smaller films since the HP series. If anything, Emma Watson is the breakout star of the trio.

Well I don't like Max Landis smug attitude and I'm a ***** and can be smug so you know he steps over a line if I don't care for him. I'm not saying that I think that he is an imaginary enemy of mine or something or that I personally hate him because I don't know him but I don't like his public persona. Only Chronicle has been well reviewed and was a hit and the dude acts like he is Aaron Sorkin or something off the back of that one ****ing movie. Newsflash, he's not ****ing Aaron Sorkin.

I cannot wait until his 15 minutes of geek fame are over.

BTW, Victor Frankenstein looks like garbage, I'm sorry but it does.

Outright disgusted with Red Letter Media for letting him on their show where they back-peddled from their scathing American Ultra review (along with his Twitter rant) and then let him justify it.

Then they review Victor Frankenstein the next show and guess what, they have nice things to say, especially about the earlier drafts of the script (!) which they liked more and even read excerpts from!?!

Not one of those people to play the "SELL OUT!" card but that is unbelievable.

She was always expected to be the breakout star, even when they were in diapers when the films started.

Radcliffe's fine but nothing to write home about. He'll always be Harry Potter but made crazy money off it. So he's set for life; all three of them are for that matter.

Read that the average take for theaters isn't even at $1,000. This thing is making almost Jem level returns.

This movie looked like crap in the trailer, so it's no surprise it's bombing. I had no idea Max Landis wrote it though; that makes me super-happy that it's a failure. Like everyone here has already said, I wouldn't have a problem with his unprofessional behavior if he had the cred to back it up, but he doesn't. Chronicle may have been great but that movie feels so long ago now; since that time we've witnessed the career death of Josh Trank and I have a feeling Max is going to follow him down that path soon.

Radcliffe and McAvoy are ok but this movie always looked lame.

I agree.

I don't hate Max Landis but the guy is way too smug and opinionated about other people's work when he only has one hit movie under his belt.

I never liked Landis's attitude either. Going back to those 90's Superman videos the guy just comes off as smug as hell. Not to mention his father is already an ******* so I guess that's where he gets it from too.

It's a shame too because the guy is so young and has sold a lot of scripts, something a lot of young writers can envy. I'm not even ruffled when people are born with a famous parent and use it to their advantage. But do something good and right with that. Or you're just seen merely seen as a privileged *******, which he comes off as.

The only thing Max Landis has done is "Wrestling Isn't Wrestling." That is a work of art.

I never had an opinion on Landis until I heard him on Doug Loves Movies, he was a guest on a live podcast with two or three comedians and was really unpleasant to listen to. I don't remember details specifically but I do remember him talking about himself every chance he could.

Not surprised this bomb at all or that, I hear, it's not that good.

On Radcliffe I dont think there really is "hype" around him. Just kind of a "he was a big child star, what will he do next" kind of thing. He's an alright actor from what I've seen other than HP.
If I were him I would stay away from genre affair for a while. He has that young Karl Rove movie where he plays Lee Atwater that seems really interesting.

I can't really predict where his career is going to go.

On another note: Damn what happened to Tom Felton and Rupert Grint?

So does the monster even appear in the movie?

I think Radcliffe will be fine. I think he'll stick to indie movies. The one thing that sorta hurts him is that he's short. He's around 5'4 or 5'5. At least Tom Crusis is 5'8.

I wanna see Radcliffe do a straight forward comedy. I mean yeah he did that "What If" movie that was ok, but idk I mean something that really relies on him to be funny.

I just feel that way about most actors. I think comedy is a real good test of skill.

I think he'd be good at it. Based on what I've seen, he's a funny, likable guy in real life. Come to think of it, he'd be a great fit for a Seth Rogen comedy.

From what I saw at Gencon, get McAvoy in there as well.

Will it though Dustin Hoffman and James Cagney were both 5'5 and they both did fine.

There are plenty of short leading men. I don't think Radcliffe's height is going to hurt his career.

McAvoy should do some comedy. McAvoy seems a funny guy in real life.

The stoic people wanna be funny and the funny people wanna be stoic. And so goes this thing of ours.

VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN definitely has cheese all around its edges but i have to give praise to James McAvoy
as the title character for his enthusiastic performance and Daniel Radcliffe,as Igor portraying a man who struggles with his loyalty
to Frankenstein and his love for his lovely Lorelei (Jessica Brown Findlay)
Not great by any means but it does entertain here and there. One of those flicks for a slow Saturday night at home

Scale of 1-10 a 6½

I think Radcliffe is a pretty good actor; really loved Horns. I have a feeling when he signed onto this, he had no idea it was going to turn out this terrible. I'm sure he'll bounce back just fine.

Grint though... yeah, I never need to see that guy again. I couldn't stand him in the Potter movies.
