I mean the whole concept of his comeback was to support his son directorial debut effort, and if that whets his appetite for more and better movies in the future that would be fantastic so I can only see this as a win. Also I'm sure his performance alone will rock in this one too.

I'm just glad to see him back, I don't care what he does. It'd be cool to see him reunite with PTA one last time before he decides to retire again. Or to see him collaborate with big time directors he hasn't worked with before like Nolan or Villeneuve.
