Might be time to re-open the Daredevil forum soon, boys. Things could quickly start getting interesting.

I just saw this today:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daredevil_(film)#Sequel

I don't know how recent the quotes are, and things tend to change quite a bit in this stage, but here's hoping to it's legitimacy.

I'll definitely be looking for news on this.

That quote is from three years ago.

Additionally, it was predicated on Fox's allowing the rights to lapse back to Marvel, which there's been absolutely no indication of.

LOL if MSJ believes Marvel wants him back for a second DD movie.

It's a little off-topic, but I have a question- how early are sub-forums made? Shouldn't we be seeing one for Thor? That movie seems to be on the fast-track for the June 2010 release and doesn't have its own forum, but Justice League does.

Talk about misleading. I saw the title and got all happy and then I saw that the link was wikipedia where ANYBODY can edit and just put down stuff.

Actually, I believe that HAS already happened. It's not really the kind of thing that generally gets announced.

marvel needs to demand that Fox relenquish the DD rights-- get to work on a new film, new script, new actors, new directors, etc.

adapt Born Again, and make it Rated R..

I don't know why DD & Elektra haven't returned to Marvel, since it's been years after these movies were made and there is no indication Fox will make a sequel out of these properties.

I hate this thread. For a split second there I got excited...well it isn't true so, :cmad:.

That's not quite how things work....

And again, it's my understanding that Marvel has already gotten back the film rights.

And any Marvel movie is now no higher of a rating than PG-13

I don't get why fans always scream for an R-RATED DAREDEVIL.
??

Would it be awesome? Yes. Is it needed? Absolutely not. All DD needs is a hard PG-13.

They need to reboot the series with something along the lines of Bendis' run. Literally pick and choose, anything from that era would be stellar. Matthew Fox :cmad:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they have. Enough time has passed that they would revert back to Marvel.

I don't know if it's going to happen, but it could.

Yea i beleive the rights we're already given back to Marvel.

Which IS pretty damn hard, actually. I just re-watched the entire LOTR saga recently and noticed all brutal murders, fingers being severed, heads being severed, severed heads on pikes and severed heads being tossed at others - All from a PG-13 series. Does anything about DareDevil REALLY need to be more brutal than that, I mean REALLY?

Matt Fox and a reboot with Brubaker type style, gets a thumbs up from me.

Hells yes to a new Daredevil. Reboot or not I want a new Daredevil

Most of the gore in LotR takes place against creatures, not humans. That's how they got away with it. You'll notice there's very little blood present any time a human gets hurt.
Same with Star Wars: Episode II. They cut through a bunch of those CGI aliens, with a direct shot of one getting sliced right in half... rated PG. It's because it doesn't look like actual harm to an actual person.

Meanwhile, the film critics for the Orcs and Geonosians are freakin' pissed.
=)

Marvel seems to have a lot on it's plate right now, especially with all this Avengers hype the ending of Iron Man created.

There's a lot of good characters out there, and most of them deserve a good film.
Honestly, though... this is the one I'm waiting for most.

EDIT: I could possibly see Matt Fox, well, either of the versions of Speed Racer's brother, as Murdock. I definitely want the director back. The style of the first film is the best thing about it.

Except for the park scene, but that's forgivable.
How many ridiculous things have you done just because you like a girl?

i know its never going to happen but matt fox would be the perfect cyclops, he has the whole leader thing down and racer x's origonal costume was such a ripp of from cyclops

Yeah, DD doesn't need an R. Hell, in the PG-13 cut of the first one he still threw a rapist under a train and mocked him while doing it. That's f**king hardcore.

It's only been five years.

According to Favreau counted as Daredevil 2 (as far as the rights are concerned) so technically it's only been three years. I know, it sucks. Fox are doing the same thign with X-Men by doing spin-offs.

Mathew Fox is good casting for Murdock.

That said I don't think we need another Dare Devil film though for a while... maybe one day an actor can come along and can play a decent King Pin. Once Marvel gets Spidey and Dare Devil and Punisher and FF back they should revisit all theses franchises then and ONLY then to keep things fresh. Right now Marvel is potentially set with their remaining characters. And I am tired of these five-eight year reboots. Reboots are for stuff 10-15 years down the line if not twenty years down the line. If Fox or Sony ain't doing more sequels... I don't want to see reboots for another fifteen years period.

Well, TIH is a reboot and from the early reviews it seems like Marvel got it right, so reboot isn't a bad idea. But I agree that Marvel should hold those licenses for several years, and let people forget about the subpar originals, before they reboot them with new actors and new direction.

If you are "A" list material then you can reboot shortly after the fact... I don't get it to be honest. Even when Marvel gets this back in 2009... unless they are making a sequel (with MCD as King Pin) it's not worth rushing these Dare Devil and Punisher (which looks like a continuation even though it's a reboot) reboots by releasing them within three years after the turnover. First, it doesn't fit with your current plans... and second Dare Devil isn't an "A" lister that has a large following outside the fans of the first film/comics. Marvel should still consider leasing other characters out to studios that may have use for them. Dare Devil comes to mind. Guys like Black Panther come to mind. We don't need all these guys in the current in-house Marvel universe they are building. Not all these guys are going to be able to carry their own films/franchises anyways. If I am Marvel I am not rebooting Fantastic Four until this current comic book movie genre is dead and I want to reinvigorate the genre many years from now. Same with Dare Devil for that matter. Spiderman/X-Men will be keepers for Sony/Fox so I wouln't go back to those franchises since we'd have already seen a crap load of those films by then. But I think these immediate reboots need to stop and stop now or it will be overkill.

Thing is (and I suspect that I'm not in the minority here) I don't wanna have to wait 15 years to finally see a decent D/D film. By then, I'll be 45 (!)
