He's been right by a ratio of 9 to 1? I'm sorry... WHAT?!

I don't believe 9:1 for a second, even if you *do* count all the vague and obvious guesses.

El Mayimbe seems to be pretty accurate in regards to smaller details - singular characters, casting, minor plot details, etc.

It's when he starts promising things like Black Panther and Planet Hulk that he shouldn't be believed

He's had pretty much every latest Marvel scoop right & overall has a great tracking record, some people just follow the herd and trash him without knowing anything about what he got right and what he got wrong. Not to mention that things can change & actors, producers, directors lie all the damn time.

I'm thinking that, now that he's revealed himself as a villain, Agent Ward could change his name to Agent Wardell for AOS season 2. :hehe:

Such as what?

Really like the mention of the 70's gritty NY style! Serpico, Taxi Driver, Death Wish, and Shaft all come to mind!

Yup, exactly what I was hoping for.

If it's anything like this sizzle reel, I'll be very happy.

The Warriors is what comes to my mind when I think of gritty seventies New York.

I wouldn't mind if 70s fashions came back in to the MCU. Fashions come and go all the time and so flares and afro haircuts could come back in vogue. That way Luke Cage could have a more iconic look with the gold shirt and chain belt and afro haircut instead of a really generic bald head and yellow T-shirt.

After all, if there's a 70s vibe, then there must be an explanation for why Hell's Kitchen seems like such a throwback to an earlier era than the way it appears in real life. In the MCU Hell's Kitchen, maybe it could be like Cuba where time seems to have stood still.

Hopefully he just means the feel is gritty like the 70's but still is set in modern day.

It is set in the modern days but the tone is like the gritty new york of the seventies

I feel certain that's what it will be. Kinda' like Hail To The King. I guess a way it could be is, what 70's blaxploitation and Hong Kong-martial arts films were to the Kill Bill films, 70's urban NY police/ crime films will be to DD. Maybe.

The Thomas Jane Dirty Laundry short was a bit like a 70s movie, at least more so than his own Punisher movie. I could see DD like that, although hopefully not as over-the-top.

But even if the feel were like Law & Order Criminal Intent, then I would be confident it would be great. With D'Onofrio in the show, that should also add to that.

No Ben Urich casting yet? Love the tone their going for.

Yeah, it's trying to invoke the image of 1970s New York, which was a seedier place. Particularly, 1970s Hell's Kitchen. Modern Hell's Kitchen isn't that bad of a place, which kind of defeats the point. The one area I doubt will be 1970s is Times Square, where the overhaul (for the better, imo) is too well-known.

I see so many people around the internet complaining about it taking place in modern Hell's Kitchen... so they can suspend their disbelief when it comes to a blinded costumed crime fighter in NY, but an alternate reality where modern day Hell's Kitchen isn't gentrified is too much for them? wow.

If Hell's Kitchen is all cleaned up why not move to one of the other burrows. Like the Bronx, Queensbridge, Brookyln or whatever.

My guess is because taking Daredevil out of Hell's Kitchen is like taking Batman out of Gotham and placing him in Star City. Hell's Kitchen is where Matt Murdock's heart is.
