If Hell's Kitchen is all cleaned up why not move to one of the other burrows. Like the Bronx, Queensbridge, Brookyln or whatever.

because it's make believe, and as such one can do whatever it is that they desire to make the end product enjoyable.
In real life, Hell's Kitchen is an up and coming area, but in the DD books it has ALWAYS been a rough neighborhood. I don't see any reason why that should change. It is fiction after all.

For this character who is supposed to be this grounded hero. If times chnage he should adapt to it. It's not like I'm saying leave New York I'm saying expand your horizons to protecting all of New York. Spidey isn't in this universe so what's holding him back from being the champion of New York?

Daredevil's home is Hell's Kitchen. If I can believe there's a blind lawyer with radar sense, I can believe that the Hell's Kitchen of the Marvel universe wasn't quite as gentrified as the modern Hell's Kitchen. Is that really so implausible? Not quite as gentrified?

In addition to the spiritual tie he has to the place and how it's such an important part of his comic, the name's also great. He's the devil and he lives in hell. Works for me.

See what I mean? Some people are just non sensical about some things... I'm pretty sure the Chitauri didn't attack New York in real life so why aren't these people complaining about that?

They need precisely one line about how Manhattan largely cleaned itself up in the early 90's but Hell's Kitchen never managed to recover. MCU history already differs from our in many ways, there's no reason one neighborhood can't differ significantly especially since it's critical to the feel of a proper Daredevil story. Our Earth has no Wakanda, are we going to get upset because MCU Earth does?

The penjulent swings both ways because the World Trade Center is absent from there also probably for the same reason.

Or maybe it never existed in the MCU? Its irrelevant either way. This is a fictional version of our own universe. I don't really see people complaining about historical inaccuracy when they talk about Captain America: The Winter Soldier. In this universe, the writers have now decided that Hell's Kitchen is still a rough neighbourhood, which was expected. I don't see how this is such a difficult concept to grasp for some people.

Except the name. And the connection to the Daredevil comics. And the fact that one is Manhattan and the other isn't (seriously, tell someone from New York that the Bronx is the same and see how they feel about that). Would I be opposed to having Daredevil visit other Burroughs? Of course not. Should his home be some place other than Hell's Kitchen, though? Hell no.

Well he's living in San Francisco in the current comics, and he's lived their before as well. So it's not like it's ONLY Hell's Kitchen. Also, the Avengers analogy doesn't really work because NYC still seemed more or less like it is today. It's just that aliens attacked it, but it's still the same city. They didn't completely misrepresent and entire section of it just because of "nostalgia."

I'm not saying he shouldn't live there but NY is bigger than that neighborhood. In the comics it made sense for a guy like that to protect a singular area , when you had hundreds of heroes living in the city. As much as the MCU has expanded the universe nobody protects the little guy. Cap isn't patrolling the streets at night nor should he. Daredevil to my knowledge is the first street level guy and his scope should be bigger than a neighborhood.

Oh, I agree he defends all of New York, but he shepherds (I think that's the best word to use) Hell's Kitchen. There's no question he'll go to other places, particularly when the people he's confronting are in those places. But we were talking about the portrayal of Hell's Kitchen (and whether it should look more like it did in the 1970s vs. today), not where he will go throughout the series.

As for San Francisco, every time he goes there is to show him as a fish out of water. The fact that the buildings aren't as tall is part of it. Daredevil doesn't get to run and jump along rooftops with his billyclub as easily. Every time he goes to San Fran, he always makes his way back home.

Yeah, he would be kind of a terrible hero if he only protected Hell's Kitchen. Is he going to let the bad guys get away if they crosses the street into Manhatten? "GET BACK HERE, YOU! I can't fight you if you're not in Hell's Kitchen!"

Well, Hell's Kitchen is in Manhattan. I assume you mean "the rest of" Manhattan.

Maybe that will be a plot point later in the series. He encounters Luke Cage or Iron Fist who have their own stomping ground, and he butts heads with them for invading their territory. Or maybe he could cross swords with the Punisher.

Marvel's releasing some concept art. Maybe we'll get some for Daredevil.

Maybe the concept art will look something like this:

^ That's Matt Murdock in that poster. :oldrazz:

Daredevil is gonna curse and scream the bad guys into submission :woot:

I'm gonna assume that Hell's Kitchen went to the ****ter after the Battle of New York, which would explain why it degraded into it's 70s self again.

Most of the rich people and hipsters moved out, then all the scum and criminals came in. May have happened to other parts of the city too.

The bad guys better get their cooking skills together then.

On a serious note though, it would be cool if Gordon Ramsay did make an appearance on the show. Maybe Matt eats at one of his restaurants.

That works too, it'll be a few years on since then. Probably Fisk is involved in some way too.
