He never mentions "white jacket" in the interview. But in the 2003 movie, Kingpin never wore white either. He either wore a black suit or a grey suit.

And the Marvel Legends Face Off Kingpin variant had a black suit (which I never liked):

I always preferred the standard classic version of him:

So if Kingpin could appear in a black suit as a figure, unfortunately, he could potentially appear in one for the TV show.

Now I won't hold it against them if he does appear once like that in a black suit, but his standard look NEEDS to be the white jacket. Even if he wears black trousers like the figure above, that will be okay, as long as he has the white top.

I'd imagine that the look they'll go with for him is the white jacket, because its really iconic. But that statement doesn't confirm it.

My bad. But I agree that the white jacket shouldn't really be in question imo. Thats like wondering if the joker will wear purple lol

But they didn't use the white jacket for the 2003 DD movie so it's not like that's been the live action look without question. I don't think John Rhyl Davis even wore that as Fisk in Trial of the Incredible Hulk, although DD didn't even wear red for that matter.

I'm not hung up on the color of his wardrobe-- well, if it's blatantly garish, like orange or purple, that's a problem. Fisk presumably wouldn't want to attract attention in public, so he'd likely not be that flamboyant. (Hammerhead or Tombstone, on the other hand, would be flamboyant.) I'm also not that interested in seeing him with an ascot. It was an affectation of the era in which he was designed by Mr. Romita, but I'm not sure how common they are now among business (Mob) types. If we see it on occasion, fine. (Like, cocktail parties.) But every episode would be pushing it, IMO.

@ Dark Raven
Those were all movies, this is a 13 episode series. I think they could easily sneak in the white suit at least once. VD even cites Millars work as visual inspiration. And this is marvel studios were talking about, they love to please the fans with this kind of stuff.

As far as fisk attracting attention goes, I don't think he's in fear of that. He sees himself as untouchable, and for the most part he is. Thats what makes him so dangerous. I don't see him being in public too often, but I don't see anything wrong with him having expensive and rather flashy taste in attire.

Is it possible we'll get a sneak peek during S2 of Agents of SHIELD (ABC's new "we're connected to the Avengers!" tactic :P)? Or will we have to wait 'til like, February?

I'm fine with him wearing the white coat. But I don't really want the purple pants, that would just look dumb in live-action (it often looks dumb in the comics).

Yea, I could do without the purple pants. White coat. Black pants. Bald D'Onofrio. Perfection.

On to Bullseye... I posted this in the Bullseye specific thread, but I thought I'd seek comment from here as well since it would involve the overall plot of the show:

At this point, I have to ask. Are we even 100% sure we're getting Bullseye at all? They started filming, what, a couple of weeks back and we've heard good number of names as part of the main cast. Is Marvel waiting on this announcement in order to make a big splash? Is it possible that there's someone specific they want and are in negotiations, but haven't sealed the deal just yet? While I don't see them not including Bullseye, is it possible they're holding him out for season 2?

Black pants with purple pinstripe. :o

I see them including Bullseye, but I don't think he'll have as big a role as some people may thing. I think they want to focus on Kingpin as the true villain.

Sorry probably not the right thread, but can someone tell me the release dates (roughly) for each series leading up to the Defenders? Daredevil is May 2015 what about the others?

They have not been announced yet.

They have not been announced yet.

Do we have any idea? Surely it wont be one series per year? That would leave a massive gap between Daredevil and Defenders.

I'm thinking it'll be at least 2 per year.

To actually answer your question. No, we have no idea. My hope is two per year. But given the first one is a year away and there's very little attention on the second one yet, it might just be one per year.

Jessica Jones got a showrunner about 2 months after Daredevil got a showrunner. Its been about 2 months since Daredevil cast its lead and its been confirmed that Jessica Jones is in its casting stage right now. So I can't see it taking until may of 2016 for them to get that one ready. It looks like they're going be doing these a few months apart.

This is what Netflix's CCO has had to say.
Right now, the writers' rooms are open and they're looking at casting Jessica. If you sense some hesitation in my voice, that's classic Marvel fashion. They like to keep that veil of secrecy. But Daredevil is already shooting, since that's out first. Eventually the series will run very close together. You can then have a separate season where the characters will cross over.

I need the bloody costume!!!!!

I dreamed that it leaked last night...it looked great.....in my dream.

If blood is leaking through the costume you might want to get that checked out

Cheers for that. With it not being too many episodes a series hopefully they can release them all over 2-3 years.

Might even give them time to appear in Avengers 3 if there is a big Infinity Gauntlet style fight. Even just a cameo.

I don't know if this has been mentioned but if DD is debuting on May 2015, will the events of AoU be mentioned or any of the Avengers mentioned? After all, its suppose to be the same MCU.

Im sure something will be referenced. They have to show people that the show is connected. Dropping little tid bits about other events its the quickest and simplist way to do it.

I hope we get a costume reveal for this at NYCC next month. Even sooner would be nice!

Unless you count the report that she's playing Claire T, "a dedicated young woman whose quest to heal the wounds of Hell’s Kitchen brings Matt Murdock unexpectedly crashing into her life, while her own journey forever alters the course of his battle against the injustices of this broken city."
