Interestingly, Foggy wasn't in on the secret until the 300s in the comics (some time in the 90s). By that point, I think it stretched credibility a little bit. I think Karen Page needs to find out long before Foggy does, but I have no problem with both of them finding out eventually.

While it wasn't that surprising by comic book standards, I do think he needs to learn about it before long in the serie, if only because it allows for character development, and there is only so much you can do with the "foggy not in the secret" stuff.

I agree, although I love the dopey Foggy wondering how Matt got in and out of the office trope (but, yeah, it would get old quickly). I don't think he needs to know by the end of season one just because I think there's too many things also going on. But, if there's a season 2 or a season 3, that would be a good time for it.

yeah, I guess bumbling Foggy could work for a whole season indeed.

So I started reading the Miller omnibus at my library. Beginning with the McKenzie run with Miller doing the artwork with Jansen's coloring. Wow, I'm not even on the Miller written stuff yet and it's already superb.

That scene when Bullseye is waiting for Natasha in her apartment and completely lays her out. Wow. This little arc here with Bullseye made me really appreciate his character. This show just needs to come out.

I hope they don't have DD's I.D revealed. He's the only marvel hero to to have a secret I.D in the MCU,let him keep it.

Might as well have the picture here:

Looks like she's running late for her job interview and decided to get dressed at the bus stop.

Foggy: "Your hired!"

Yeah, that stuff with Bullseye (from the Coney Island fight to "Devils" to after Elektra) is really good. Bullseye is one of my favorite characters.

I've brought up this discussion in the other thread, but, to me, his costume is a huge part of his character. However, with the exception of Loki, there seems to be a rule that goodguys can have costumes, but not badguys.

I dunno about that. I would count Winter Solider as a costume. Obadiah and Whiplash both ended up in suits or armor. Malekeith, Kurse, Ronan, Nebula, and Red Skull essentially look like their comic counterparts, technically wearing "costumes." Batroc was just missing a mask to bring it together. The Iron Man 3 baddies and Crossbones were victims of plot circumstances. They did not have their usual costumes or really any costume (well, except for The Mandarin although that's whole ball of wax)

I'd rather they keep it to a minimum. It hasn't been Batman-y since more or less Stan Lee stopped writing. It's a billy club and a grappling hook. I think I've seen it as a tape recorder. But I don't think it needs anything more than that.

I liked how he could attach the two of them and make a staff in the movie.

Yeah,Bullseye needs a costume this time.No two ways about it.

At a minimum, they at least need to make test footage and see how it looks in context. I'll give props to Raimi's Spider-Man. They created test footage of the classic Green Goblin even if they ultimately decided it wouldn't work (I might disagree, but I'll respect their choice). They should at least have whichever actor is cast as Bullseye wear the suit, lean nonchalantly against a wall, throw some common items as weapons, etc. and see if it can work even in a gritty television show. If it can't, oh well, at least you tried.

The nice thing about Bullseye is he stands as a contrast to everyone else. Even in Daredevil, when he's hired as an assassin for Kingpin, it's clear that he's not just one of the regular schmucks. It gives him an air of crazy, which is perfectly fine.

Raimi and co chose the Goblin suit we got over that?

I agree that they definitely should at least do some test footage of Bullseye in costume. He's mostly in black and wears a cowl, so how cheesy could he possibly look? Even with white gloves and boots, that still wouldn't make him look silly. All that would be needed would be a target symbol on his cowl afterwards. They need to make him markedly different and much better than the Colin Farrell version.

Hell bullseye needs the costume TV daredevil wore in Trial of the hulk.
Fit him more than DD.

I think the exact costume might be TOO silly, but all black (as he is an assassin) would fit nicely.

Yeah, all black would work. And he needs a mask (he is an assassin after all.I imagine he'd need to keep his I.D a secret.) All he needs is a white bullseye on his mask as his trademark.

I'd take that over what we got for Farrell. Just paint a target on his head and he'd be good to go.

I just hope DD isn't getting a costume like that again though, since he's headed back to TV himself.

Speaking of TV DD from Trial of the Incredible Hulk, anyone think Rex Smith might make a guest appearance in this show at some point? Or John Rhys Davis? :woot:

My thought was a very dark blue, but pretty much. A mask/cowl with a bullseye on it is all that's really needed. I'd give him gloves and boots as well, but I have no problem with toning down the white on the costume. But the point is to at least try.

Punisher normally has white gloves and boots, but they dispensed with that for all iterations of him on the big screen. They still went with the black costume though in all versions and even had the skull on his chest (clearly in the Thomas Jane one and less so for the War Zone one). They didn't completely skip out and give him such a divergent look like Farrell had for Bullseye in the 2003 DD.

Black should be the easiest costume to pull off anyway, and there's no problem with his cowl at all. Why on earth did Fox or Mark Steven Johnson think that wouldn't work on the big screen?

I thought the rumor was Farrell wouldn't go for a "traditional" Bullseye costume.I think the original intention was for him to wear it after the 'I want a costume' scene.Storyboards for the church fight bear out the intention for Bullseye to be in costume there as well.

Probably because they couldn't come close to justifying it in the movie. Sure, the look is good and comics accurate. . . but that's a *face*, not a mask. Trying to present it as a mask would be laughable. Sure, the movie is fairly light-hearted and campy, but "putting on a rubber mask transforms a guy's face into something hours of makeup work couldn't do" would push the boundary even for it.

Yes they did, and it pisses me off just as much now as it did the first time I saw it.

It's just odd. That one seems so much more Raimi-friendly than the Mighty Morphin Power Goblin. I wonder if a higher power made that call... *cough*Arad*cough*
