Daredevil: Revival

I loved the DC but MSJ and Afflack wouldn't return for a sequel. I say do a reboot or a distant sequel.

Hi there, I'm new but not that new. I've been lurking around here for a decent while. Just want to give my two cents regarding ol' hornhead. The Daredevil franchise definitely deserves another go. First of all, logistics. This movie delivered financially speaking. It was a seventy five million dollar movie and it cashed in over one hundred million dollars at the B.O. Second, the Daredevil character must be the most interesting superhero of all, second only to Batman. Cause' basically he really has no powers, just very upgraded senses. Second the guy is blind. Third he is a lawyer. A catholic sinner. (No offense to anyone). The guy is a flawed character as Frank Miller puts it. Even as a pro he makes mistakes. And there are so many good stories that can translate so well on film.

When the Daredevil:Director's Cut came out I enjoyed it a lot. The movie is a whole lot better, and the characters are more fleshed out. The movie is much more compelling. I would have taken all of the pop songs out though. Just leave the score. My major gripe with the film is the excessive use of wire work in the fight scenes and rooftop jumps. Daredevil is human, he is not Spiderman. I'm sure most of you saw Casino Royale, particularly the first chase scene. An extreme sport called Parkour is used by the terrorist in the movie, as you may or may not know. If any of you would like to see more of it, there are quite a few good videos on youtube, just type parkour. That sort of stuff would fit Daredevil perfectly. Its real and it looks amazing. Mind you guys I like the fight scenes a lot, its just that when the use of wires is evident, I kind of feel like its not supposed to be there.

Characterwise, I think Ben Affleck did a good job. I don't really mind him playing the part, he is a fan and respects the material. You have to give him credit. Actually I would not mind if he did a sequel. Which I don't think he will anyway. And I you are going to make Daredevil, he has to be more volatile than he is in both versions of the movie. Daredevil/Matt Murdock is a scrapper, a gifted adept when it comes to violence and with a wicked temper. One might go as far as to say he tends to be a prick. However he is in the end a good guy, a hero. A flawed hero, but a good guy.

Alright, enough with my babbling. Just wanted to keep this thread going. Its to bad that there is no Daredevil only forum anymore. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE SMART FROM MARVEL OR FOX IS READING.

Cheers fellow posters.:daredevil

I would be delighted if Daredevil was made again. Now I dont know whether it should be a restart or not because I wasn't too impressed with the last one. It wasn't Affleck cause I think he is a very capable actor, in fact he might have made a really good Batman. If they do make another one then they could just pick up where the story left off, but in order for me to really get excited it would have to be recast, mainly Matt Murdock and the Kingpin should be replaced. It would also be vital that the creative reigns be handed to somebody else. Someone with true vision about gritty vigilante justice, rather than a Marvel popcorn flick with a moral tale for kids. Remember Frank millers run in 70's/80's comics... that should be the guideline without studio interference, like the first Blade movie which IMO is the best Marvel adaptation yet So here's my choices to evolve the franchise:
Director: Joe Carnahan, James Mangold or Micheal Mann

Murdock/Daredevil: Mark Wahlberg, Aaron Eckhart or Brad Pitt

Kingpin: James Gandolfini

I thought Affleck did a fine job as Daredevil, and I personally enjoyed the film a lot. Most specifically, the Director's cut. I'd love to see a sequel, but I don't think it will happen anytime soon. It's too bad, IMO. I think the film is very underrated, and over time, people will see that it really was a very good film.

To be honest, even after watching it for the first time, I thought it was a refreshing change of pace after the campy X1 and Spidey1.

But apparently, darker Marvel cb movies just don't work out as great as the campy family-friendly ones. See Punisher for reference.

Either that or they have to do with assassins, mystical ninjas and the heroine fighting bed sheets. :D

I actually really like the Daredevil movie, but the DC is much better than the theatrical version.

I liked Affleck in the role and would welcome him back. I would hope that Ghost Rider does well and MSJ would get another shot at DD.

I thought I heard something not too long ago about MSJ wanting to do "Born Again."

My major gripe with the film is the excessive use of wire work in the fight scenes and rooftop jumps. Daredevil is human, he is not Spiderman.

And Daredevil is a comic character. In his comics, DD is just like that - jumping from rooftop to rooftop, falling down from a building using his ropey billy club.

MSJ is a Daredevil enthusiast. He knows his subject matter.

I know the comics well. But some of the things he does in the movie are to far fetched and the wire work is way to ebe search for parkour, then you'll get what I'm saying.
