Which movie is worse?

Share your thoughts in all the gory and boring details.

EDIT: No posters. Let it go.

Is that Dark Phoenix poster fan-made? McAvoy, Turner, and Fassbender listed after/underneath everybody else? And why is Olivia Munn's name there at all (actually that hurts, I was gutted when she had to drop out). And... Oscar Isaac in the 'small print'?? Directed by Bryan Singer???

Okay, guess I've answered my own question.

Dark Phoenix had a much better cast, a few good performances, very fine cinematography and at least one memorable well-shot action scene. The latest Hellboy had horrendous CGI and really cheap production, awful jokes, tone all over the place and disgustingly unnecessary gore. The only thing I appreciate is the make-up and practical effects on some of the creatures. Outside that it was pure garbage for me.

I seriously thought that was a real poster, based on the quality of everything I’ve seen from Dark Phoenix.

I’m sure they’re both terrible but I can’t vote since I didn’t waste my money on either one.

I actually enjoyed both more than their write ups suggested, but I would say Dark Phoenix was the better of the 2 movies.

It's proper etiquette to answer the question before making snarky comments. :yay:

And the first post is adjusted to meet your requirements. :o

Honestly, it wasn't intended in any way as a criticism of the choice of poster, just an observation :yay:

Haven't seen either but I did start Hellboy on a plane recently and didn't even make it past the opening scene in the wrestling ring.

Okay, I haven't seem either film - and based on this thread, might not ever.

Back in the day I was a big fan of Highlander (the first movie). Someone told me NOT to see Highlander 2, because not only is it **** , but it actually ruins the first film. I didn't believe them, and saw it ......wish I hadn't, because it really did ruin the first film ! It must be one of the worst movies ever made - and starred Sean Connery !

Anyway, I have to ask are Dark Phoenix and Hellboy on that level of badness ? Are they so bad that afterwards I won't want to see another Fassbender/Macavoy/Lawrence X-Men film or any of the prior Hellboys ? ( TBH I never really rated Hellboy 1 and Hellboy 2 was nothing special IMO).

I wouldn’t be say either are that bad really. I enjoyed Hellboy simply because it showed me things on the big screen from the comics that I never thought I would see. So if you haven’t read the comics, you probably won’t like it, because as just a movie it’s not very good.

Dark Phoenix I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed it. If you have liked the First Class movies I think you will like DP. There are also some really strong performances from McAvoy, Fassbender and Sophie Turner. The score is amazing, and some of the action sequences are really good also.

I love the world Mike Mignola creates in the comics, its one of the reasons I loved Del Toro's interpretation so much because at times it felt like it was lifted right of the page and of course Pearlman's iconic portrayal.

Watched Dark Phoenix but still haven't seen the new one Hellboy yet. DF left little impression so would say its still an open race.

I actually liked Dark Phoenix more than I thought I would. Sure, it's nothing special - but I thought it was fine. Certainly not as bad as people were saying.

Like I said I didn't think it was terribly bad just really forgettable other than the fight in New York and the train fight scene there is nothing that really stands out in my mind and makes me remember it unlike the other X-Men movies that always have numerous great moments.

I liked it better than Last Stand and Apocalypse

Hellboy is better, i fell asleep inside the cinema but it was because I was tired that day. Milla Jovovich was fierce and it wasn't as boring as Dark PhoeniX.
