Comics Dark X-men

I can't get the image from marvel.com, but is this the result of x-men/dark avengers crossover? Looks like Angel (maybe?), Emma, Prof X, Namor, Daken, Cloak and Dagger, and maybe some iteration of Guardian from omega flight? or someone new altogether.

It looks like the Dark Avengers are going to get some buddies to team up with in th future. I think Dark Reign is going to try to out do all of Marvel's events with it's excessive event minis, one-shots, crossovers, and DR arcs in almost ever ongoing series they have.
I thought we were going to be done with all the Dark Reign stuff after they announced everything earlier this year, but it looks like it's gonna stick around even longer.

I actually thought Marvel could have done a "Dark" X-men angle with Lady Mastermind as Emma, Maddie as Jean, Mimic as Angel or Cyclops (or even both), Daken as Wolverine, Dark Beast as Beast. Thats like a dark version of Morrison's run

Marvel really knows how to milk events. I don't care if this ends up being good or bad, but why is it even necessary to do this. like even it just happens to be something that is going to happen within the X-Men title(though it looks like its going to be a mini or ongoing) why are they soliciting it now it probably won't happen till after the X-men/dark avengers crossover any ways. I know they probably look at it as letting fans know what to expect but we do like actual surprises not anticipating something that from first sight looks stupid. I'm not a fan of Emma Frost personally but they've gone through all of this trouble to establish her as hero and now they're going through all this trouble to make her a villain again. So what happens when Scott and Emma are on apposing sides?

Imagine if a load of criminals and known serial killers in the real world started dressing up in police costumes and running round going "We're the Dark police". Would people really be going "hmm two lots of police, I dont know who to trust"?

I'd say Mimic and Daken and Namor are the only ones that 100% will be who they are. Cloak and Dagger are probably not actually themselves because there is suppose to be a Cloak and Dagger mimi series coming out in before 2010. if it is actually Emma Frost though this add will make more sense.

That guy in the back is Mimic? I thought it was Blackbolt leader of the Inhumans and then that chick in the front could be Crystal not emma but now that we see Emma scrunching the visor guess that's out. Hope it means their relationship is done...All the costumes are terrible except for the ladies..It's still weird for me to think of Namor as a mutant much less an Xman..you can't tell me these are the only folks left standing......

That's Daken in the Wolverine costume. The guy I guess you are calling Black Bolt is the one behind Emma? Most people are speculating he's a new Guardian/Vindicator/Weapon Alpha (or Omega...with the symbol on his chest).

^^^^^really???? RockSp answered this yesterday 8 minutes after you posted it originally. you know wikipedia exists and it is very informative for just about every comic character and if a particular character's wiki page doesn't have all the info you were looking for you can google them.

Daken is the one dressed like Wolverine. Wolverine is his father.

Powers and abilities

Like Wolverine, Daken's primary mutant power is an accelerated healing factor that allows him to rapidly regenerate damaged bodily tissue much faster and more extensively than a normal human is capable of. Although he is over 60 years old, he has the look and appearance of a man much younger and in his physical prime.

Daken's physical senses, stamina, and reflexes are also heightened to superhuman levels as a by-product of his accelerated healing factor. As with most of his powers, the full limits of these powers are unknown.

Daken also has three retractable bone claws housed within each forearm, though their configuration and appearance is somewhat different from those of Wolverine. Two claws extend between his knuckles while the third extends from the underside of his wrists. The texture appears to be porous and dark in color quite like the claws Wolverine possesses in their natural bone state, as seen in Wolverine: Origin.

Daken has the ability to consciously secrete pheromones that can alter the emotional state and sensory perceptions of others. He has used this ability to generate intense fear, happiness, depression, and a false sense of security in others. He can also use the pheromones to alter a person's perception, thereby appearing behind a person or out of a person's range of vision.

Daken's mind is naturally resistant to telepathic probes and assaults. As a result of Romulus' conditioning, Daken's mind contains a certain, undescribed "trap" for most telepaths that attempt to push too far into his mind.

i heard its officially pronounced Dah-ken, rhymes with oxen. personally i think thats stupid so i just say Day-ken.

i don't like the idea of these Dark X-Men. didnt i hear theyre doing the same thing with Fantastic Four or is that just a storyline (ive been out of the loop for a while)? the Dark Avengers worked as trying to spite the actual members, but with the X-Men's focus being to keep to themselves and just surviving, i dont see whats the point of these guys. and if this is what Emma was planning with Namor, maybe its not as cool as i first thought after reading the annual... or maybe it'll rock, who knows.

Though I think he should have gone with the name "Junior", I can hardly tell them apart anyway.
