this suit is a combination of Hal Jordan's and Sinestro's suit

the face is a commercial fake looking 3D model. the suit was modeled and textured by me in blender 2.56 and Photoshop CS3.

Your lighting and poses look very good, but you need to work on those textures. They're distracting and taking away from the positve aspects of the models. Especially in the render of the guy sitting on the floor of the dojo. he looks like he's made or rubber instead of skin.

If textures are your weakiest field, I'd say don't even bother texturing and just model your ass off. model as many elements in your renders as you computer will take will before it crashes and really push the detail in everything. I'd even suggest hooking up with a texture artist and letting them worry about that stuff and you take care of the models and lighting.

he doesnt look like rubber in the dojo because of the textures. he looks like rubber because i used the wrong skin shader. the texture is from real skin. :awesome:

^^^ Really nice! How did you get the soft reflections in the wood? Did you use a bump or texture designed to give off soft reflections?

wood texture,bump, reflection texture.

damn, wish i had your talent. looks so professional!

this render didnt turn out how i imagined it. i first was trying to get an angle where you could see the girl in the mirror. but the bathroom was to small.the hair also didnt turn out very good. i first tryed to use hair strands but my ocomputer was not good enough to render them. so i used fake transparency planes. i am happy with the colors. metalic blue

i was going for a cold feel

Haha...looks like Krillin turned thug :P that's a pretty good rendering!

some amazing work here mate! Love the Superman image

Your best yet by mile! There's a bit of texture warping on the right shoulder, but that's a small crit, and probably fairly easy to fix. The skin in this one looks much, much better than your other images. There's a degree of imperfection (especially in the cheeks and forehead) that is reflecting the ambient nearly perfectly. I think the specularity of the skin (especially on the nose) is done better than almost all CG movies I've seen, including Beowulf and A Christmas Carol.

dark_b outdid himself with the skin/face on that female model. Spectacular job.

just to explain for all renders and future renders.

i am always using a commercial 3d figure from DAZ.com. with textures. i am using a 3D software to change the shape of the body and face. but it was modeled and textures by a modeler from DAZ.i always change the textures in photoshop. but the base texture is commercial.
so 60% credit goes to DAZ.com. i noticed the streching on the shoulder.and the plan was to fix it. but i forgot it. BIG BIG mistake.

everything around the human figures is modeled and textured in Blender and photoshop. Blender is an open source 3D program.

some interesting info from the girl on grass render.

-render time 3 hours and 20 minutes (my longest render ever)
-RAM 1.8 GB. the computer got hot and made strange sounds. i was scared that my graphic card will burn. my computer is 4 years old. on a modern computer this would render in around 1 hour.
-3D file 190mb big (all files on my previous renders were around 30mb .the reason its so big is because of the grass)
-over 2 millions polygons. for example Optimus Prime in TF has 1.800.000 polygons.

Wow, the woman in that last one looks exactly like a photograph. :wow: It's honestly some of the best CGI I've ever seen.
