i like the design. parts of it look kinda weird, but with a few tweaks it would look even better.

The main thing the prequels are missing is the mythic touch. The age of the Jedi should be like an age of wizards, but Lucas focuses more on the sci-fi. More sci-fi makes sense for the age of the Empire, where cold machinery is the rule of the day. (as personified by Anakin Skywalker himself)He should have gone back and studied up on his Joseph Campbell and various legends and myths. Imagine--the SW equivalents of the Chair Perilous, Grendel, Medusa...

And I just want to bring this post up again- as it's perhaps the first time I've ever read such a thing and it really goes beyond juvenile bickering over lightsaber fights and who was the better character. It's looking at Star Wars from a very thought out story perspective, and really could have led to something completely unique and original. I've never thought of something like this before, but damn if it doesn't sound awesome.

even though i'd still want them to keep the sci fi aspect...i agree that they went TOO sci fi with the prequels. the prequels were more about the technology than it was about the magic. the prequels had devices and vehicles that were beyond capable of anything from the OT, which makes no sense.

that was a great post...thanks for bumping it, Rez.

I really saw a lot of potenial for Darth Maul, I was hoping for him to have a lot more screentime then what he was given because he is honestly the most frightening villain in the universe of Star Wars. If they developed that a bit more then he would've been an incredible factor to the universe.
