Darth Maul: Should he have been in all three Star Wars prequels?

I think he should have returned in 3 for the role of Grevious. Half robot, like in some pre-production art and that comic. That way, Obi Wan still gets to kill him, you still have the half man half machine thing, you have him do some more asskicking- and maybe be a half decent light saber dueler as well.

Yeah, it no doubt is. I think a rematch between Maul and Obi-Wan would have been cool like some have mentioned. The fight could've been longer, and have a bit more lightsaber fighting.

First of all Maul was a Sith lord... not a freaking general of the Trade Federation... it would have been stupid to bring him back that way... not saying Grevious was worth it... but if you saw the clone wars cartoon series... he was a flat out bad ass... not the same level as Darth Maul badass... but badass nevertheless... hopefully they will expand on that more when the redo the clone wars series with the digitally animated shows.

I actually prefer Count Dooku to Darth Maul. Christopher Lee is a living legend, he kicks Obi Wan's butt twice and hangs with Yoda in a fight. Lord Tyranus all the way

No.

He was great as the complete menacing unkown badass. If Boba Fett taught us anything, it was cooler not knowing and then he would have just been Dooku's role. Which would have meant less the gravitas needed in Episode II of Christopher Lee and an even lamer death again III.

Besides it would take the focus off of Anakin for the prequels though.

Same... Christopher Lee owned that role... I love it when my favorite franchises have those legendary actors that stand the test of time. The only reason why the prequels will never be entirely forgotten is that they have featured those types of actors... with Liam, Christopher, and Sam. One of the few brightspots of the trilogy. Darth Maul had no subtance... just eye candy... but they really should have elaborated on Count Dooku a bit more in Episode 2.

The way I envisioned it...is that they would have killed him off in TPM as it happened, THEN introduced General Grevious in AOTC (cameo only, no fighting) and in ROTS...reveal that General Grevious is in actuality Darth Maul as he faces off against Obi-Wan.

Having the two square off more than 10 years after their first encounter would've made more of an impact to watch...

lol, a person with the name Grievous would like Grievous in the new Trilogy... Why am I not surprised.
yeah you can't guess my favorite Star Wars character because my name gives it away.

That would have been cool. Or, I was thinking that maybe Dooku could have still been in Episode 2 and in 3 died, and then later have Maul surprisingly return but in Grevious' role . And then Maul and Obi-Wan could square off in a rematch.

I don't understand why his horns are longer?

Because he didn't file them.

Btw, Lucas will probably find a way to have Maul return for the new Star Wars tv show. You know Lucas, no milking gets passed him

Doubt it.

Jeez people, don't you know Lucas bashing when you see it.

I don't think he can or want to bring Maul back.

That would be pretty cool.

I wasn't really serious, but if Lucas did happen to put Maul in the show, I wouldn't be terribly surprised.

even so, the guys dead, Obi-wan ripped him apart like paper, its rather redudant at this point.

I agree, but he came back in the EU.

And being redundant is what Lucas is all about.

Lucas has lost his greatness anyways.

they bring just about every one back in EU,don't they?

It would have been cooler if he got away in the first movie, and got killed by Anakin in the third movie. This comes from someone who loves the prequels.
