Darthphere's House of Style: From Geek to Chic.

You mean guys actually do this?

What kind of heel are you talking about darth?

Maybe he is talking about stuff like Robert Downey Junior wheres in Iron Man.

I'm guessing to make them look taller:huh:

Don't people who ride horses wear heels sometimes?

Bruce wins. Yeah. I mean, most boots have heels but unless you're in a rock band or something you look stupid when the heel is like 5 inches.

Wow, I don't think I would ever... wear anything like this:

I would never wear anything with a higher heel than these 1/2 boot heels:

... which is pretty much a standard heel for men's dress boots.

I'm thinking about buying a pair of half boots to wear with slacks vs a regular pair of low top dress shoes. I don't know if I could pull it off though.

Its possible to pull off. Its not like people can tell that much of a difference when your pants leg is covering it. Besides they will also work with a blazer and jeans if you want to mix it up a bit. That worked great when I went out places.

So Darth, do I get a prize?:woot:

Compared to what RDJ is wearing... not really. Not for a hetero guy at least.

being 6'3, not really in need of heels, but if some guys need a lift, I don't see a serious problem

This is pretty much an offshoot of the Gay Male Prostitutes Saggy Jeans debate. We started discussing skinny jeans and their comfortableness or lack thereof. Ladies and Gentleman are welcome. Don't be shy guys, talking about fashion is like totally the in thing to do these days. So here's a few ice breaker questions to get things rolling:

What's your favorite clothing brand? (Limited to 3 because I know someone will ***** about not being able to choose one.)
Calvin Klein
American Eagle

When designing an outfit for a night on the town, what do you focus on first? (i.e. shoes, shirt, jacket, jeans/pants)
It all depends on where I'm going. It usually starts with the shirt. I usually just wear black jeans.

How would you define your style? Hybrid answers are welcome.
Sleek, simple, casual yet dressy, and a bit preppy. But basically whatever I like. Monstly consists of v-neck t-shirts, dress shirts, nice pair of jeans, and my favorite pair of footwear, my square-toed dress boots.

Your favorite article of clothing?
That's a hard one. It would probably be a tie between my peacoat and my mock neck CK sweater.

Your least favorite article of clothing?
Nothing, I love everything I have.

Your favorite accessory? (This could also include any tech like a cellphone)
My Scarf and my knock off Ray Ban's

One fashion item you wish you could have but can't? State reason why.
Armani suit. I don't have the money
Wow, can't believe I havent seen this thread before.
I've recently become really huge on fashion. And I have no problem talking about it, actually it's one of the things I love most. I went through quite a change these past few months(too lazy to say what right now) and fashion has been a huge influence in my life.

I posted this over in the Photo Album, but here's the kind of thing I sometimes rock to class at the business school I'm attending:

You know what I really need to get? A nice cartigan.......

I don't buy by brand. If I have a favorite brand, I don't know what it is because I don't pay much attention to the tags. The closest I come to that is that I love shopping at Men's Warehouse, but it's too expensive.

Shirt and/or tie. I usually pick everything else based on how well it compliments the torso area.

I like the term "geek chic." My preferred mode of dress is a full suit with sneakers. If full suits aren't possible (i/e laundry day) then I at least try and go for a dress pants/blazer combo. I usually wear some kind of super hero T-shirt when I'm not wearing a button up shirt with a tie, but I've been leaning more towards the latter lately. If I do wear a super hero T-shirt I'm sometimes more likely to wear my long black overcoat instead of a blazer (or in addition to one if it's cold enough).

Your favorite article of clothing?

Toss up between a blazer/coat of some kind of a tie.

Your least favorite article of clothing?

Dress shoes. Don't wear 'em. Sneakers for all occasions.

Your favorite accessory? (This could also include any tech like a cellphone)

Sunglasses. Although my cellphone might replace them as my favorite once I paint it gold and put it on a chain that clips onto my breast pocket. That's my next project.

I can't think of anything I want that I couldn't conceivably get over time. Unless it's something really specific, like The Fonze's jacket.

Those are just... wrong. I find that so unattractive.
To be fair, I'd consider that more of a costume piece than fashion mainly because it's not used for looks but for the functionality of the screenshot.

Id love to be able to wear bright colors, but with my skin it just looks weird

Exactly. It's just to make him taller on screen. I bet they wont even be showing the heels on screen.

I just got one from Macy's. It's I.N.C. and bright ass yellow. Looks awesome.
Im more of a black, red, white and grey kinda guy. And we dont have a Macy's here. But of course, I can find a cartigan like, anywhere.

I was about to call bull on that claim, but then I noticed your location said Sunnydale (the fictional home of Buffy), and not Sunnyvale (a real city south of San Francisco).

Are you Canadian BB? You can probably find a nice man cardigan at American Apparel or Le Chateau.

Yes I am. And I gotta check Le Chateau, they got some nice clothes there. And I'm in Mississauga, so I have no clue if there's an AMerican Apparel around here. I saw their stuff online anyways, not a huge fan.

I went to H&M the other day and they really don't have that much nice things. What they had in the window was awesome, but not what they had in the store. I can never find anything I like there.

Lol yup, Buffy fan for life!

H&M is crap quality. I much prefer Forever 21 for a cheap store.

Square One probably has some places you could find a cardigan. Nearest AA is probably downtown Toronto on Queen St W.

Yeah thought so. I can also check heartland. They got some decent stores there.

And I thought Forever21 was a womens shop?
