Mystery/Thriller David Fincher's Mindhunter (Netflix)

Just finished it and really enjoyed it, from the second episode on at least. It builds very well.

Renewed for Season 2
Joe Penhall created the series, with David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Charlize Theron, and Cean Chaffin executive producing. Fincher also directed four episodes of the 10-episode first season, and McCallany mentioned to EW in an interview that Penhall left the project.

“David took control over the arc of the story, everything has changed considerably from the original scripts that were turned by a talented British writer named Joe Penhall but who is no longer with the project,” the actor said.

I had no doubt after all the great reviews. :D

Finished the first season. The last 10 minutes of the finale might be my favorite thing Fincher has done.

I know everyone's saying this, but the dude that played Ed Kemper really was phenomenal. That last scene was Ford's arrogance and academic fixation shattering when intimately confronted with the real thing.

This was such a good show... and while it's not the same type of show I feel like this was a good companion piece to True Detective season 1. (not to mention Zodiac)

Ed Kemper is f**kin scary.

Yeah, that scene reminded me Zodiac when Jake Gyllenhaal was invited to the basement.

I actually did a rematch of Zodiac after I had finished this recently, interestingly enough I was listening to the Rewatchables podcast and they mentioned how Fincher envisioned Zodiac more as a television series than a film.

Binge watched this over the weekend and yep, it's spectacular. I was pleasantly surprised at how good Groff is considering he'd always just been the Glee guy/King George to me before this show. :funny: I'm assuming ADT guy
/BTK killed the mother and child mentioned in the first ep? I was disappointed that that one didn't have any resolution at the end of the episode but then they showed BTK guy practicing the knots at a later ep.

I'm pretty sure as we get in the 80's, we'll bet to resolve BTK. I heard they may do Bundy. And even Gacy.

BTK wasn't caught until 2005 though. I do find it interesting how they could go into that without any resolution. Perhaps this is an ongoing season thing until they chase after him and perhaps this jumps ahead when these characters are all older and they do catch him.
