Really loving this season and the direction it's heading, latest episode (S3E4) fault like it could be a season finale

I’m enjoying season 3 so far though I thought it started a little slow.

Lee Pace is awesome here as Brother Day as always and the other brothers are great too.

Not as much Gail until the fourth episode and even less Hari as well but Gail is coming into her own now in a leadership role.

So I am not familiar with the books, but I have seen a theory regarding the Mule

The current Mule played by Pilou Asbæk is not the actual Mule but is puppet being controlled by the real Mule (mentions his life being controlled by a holy spirit from afar)

Is this how it plays out in the books or was changed for tv?
