That was posted, AICN is behind the times on this one.

Hey folks, Harry here... So just a while ago I just got off the phone with Thomas Tull at Legendary Pictures who told me that the story that appeared over on LATINO REVIEW just frankly isn't true. Tull has not unilaterally hired Goyer to come in and write the new SUPERMAN. He loves Goyer, but frankly - the project isn't at the Script stage yet. Seems Nolan is still hatching some ideas. But he just wanted me to pass on that they have the highest enthusiasm for this project, but the story on Latino just isn't accurate. I'll see what more I can find out, but as of right now, there really isn't anything else to tell.

Germans. Moon. Yada, yada, yada. :oldrazz:

old news mac and its has been confirmed from multi sources and the trades since the aicn claimed it wasnt true.

^^^
That's already been chewed over. It seems Harry wrongly, and rather naively, took an exec, who didn't want the news to break yet, at face value.

That's why one should always go thru the whole thread instead of clicking on the last page lol.

Not a problem. It can be tiresome at times.

Wow, we've been getting steady DC news every week for the past month and it seems like its been happening on wednesday. Good to hear about goyer, people are really harsh on him (granted some of his lines in begins are bad but nolan kept them in there) but I think its a good pick. Unfortunate to hear about it not being an origin, but definately good to hear about it being luthor and brainiac. Should be interesting to see how they start the film though. One thing I'm hoping is that there is a script leak and I'm convinced goyer had a hand in leaking the begins one. The good thing is that when there are rumours and news like this that means there is activity on a a project, when we hear nothing thats the worst part. Green Lantern still has a few key casting parts left, I think thats the next thing we'll hear about seeing as how its going to start in less then 2 weeks.

well i would be happy if it starts up with clark first day or maybe superman has been running around not fully public then he is spotted and then clark goes to the planet.

Cool news. I liked Routh, but him not returning as Supes doesn't bother me. Look forward to who they'll cast.

I keep seeing people talk about bad dialogue in BB but no specific examples. I thought it was a better movie than TDK, at least i prefered it. Please give some examples of bad dialogue.

I hope it starts with a big pre-credits action sequence wherein a fully-established Superman stops a crime being perpetrated by some of his B-level supervillain adversaries. :woot:

Constant use of the word "fear." Lots of exposition-style speeches, much of which did not feel natural. TDK's script is stronger but BB has better storytelling and is still the only live action Batman movie to give proper character development to Bruce/Batman.

The constant mentioning of "fear" being hit over our heads. After the "I'm batman" the "nice coat" comment was a little much. I really think the cast saved a lot of the lines with there delivery, take neeson for example, when he says "you will never learn" that could've turned out really bad.

Neeson had a lot of bad dialogue on paper but, like you said, saved it for the most part. Oldman got stuck with "I gotta get me one of those!" Poor guy. :hehe:

What a strange day. I can't believe I've been on SHH for 7 years now and I'm still talking about Superman getting redeveloped again. Not nearly as excited or hungry for it as I used to be. Even though I was really disappointed in Superman Returns, it still feels weird that Singer and Routh aren't coming back and were starting all over again. Even with Nolan on board, I just feel conditioned to thinking this is going to fail somehow, or at least not deliver.

Liam Neeson can make anything cool.

That's why he's Hannibal in the new A-Team movie.

it is hard to keep up on posts when we get breaks like this or say for marvel fans with the cap news. I know its been tricky trying to keep updated on everyone posts.

Maybe it's Batman part 2. Supes is in a similar spot to where Bats was 7 years ago when Nolan took over. Supes is actually in a better spot. Returns wasn't a disaster by any means IMHO. The big problem for it was the amount of money dumped into all the false starts. That just put more pressure on it to perform really well at the box office and it wasn't able to do so. Sunk costs are a biotch.

lol, we posted the exact same thing about the fear comments. Some lines I was okay with, like the "I gotta get me one of those" because the movie would be too serious or else. In the end I thought it was a great film that had its flaws, but I don't think goyer deserves half the crap he gets from some people on these boards who don't even know how to string together a sentence.

It just occurred to me: the Variety thing said "not expected to return" regarding Singer and Routh. Since we know Singer is going back to school with the X-Men, what are the chances that WB will reconsider Routh?

probably not very likely. Will more then likely be a new guy, plus we dont really know where the characters will be yet. But who really knows.
