One thing we know for sure (almost) is that wolverine's time-travel-mission will change the present (2023). Assuming this movie will have a happy end I would love some bittersweetness. How about the idea the changes also include one beloved mutant to never be born or something like that. What do you think about this idea and who could be the beloved mutant?

they wouldn't go that far

the technology in the 70s defo seems advanced for its time, the whole magneto prison with finger print scanner and stuff, just shows the 70s sentinels won't be soft touches when it comes to technology

You have to figure Beast isn't the only one with a brilliant mind.
Good point. Plus, even the OT sort of took liberties with the realistic technology for the times. Yes, technically they were set in the "future", but it was that was just an excuse.

They killed Cyclops and Charles in x3 I think they are willing to kill someone like f.e. Storm.
I know the reaction to the deaths mentioned above weren't that good, but if they kill f.e. Storm it could make the ending bittersweet and it wouldn't really annoy people if dine well.

if a future that had Apoc in it was created. I would say that is pretty bitter sweet. I just dont see Apoc as a villain singer would use, he doesnt seem "real" enough to me.

Hes just an immortal mutant...i think its about time we can't keep going with magneto.

Oh yeah. It would.

But the "rumored" ending [blackout]has Storm in it.[/blackout]

What on earth is 'f.e. Storm'?

Also, I don't think it's a good idea to tamper with time in such a way that a key character is never even born. That's going too far.

Yeah, they should instead go the Ape Lincoln route ala Burton's Planet of the Apes

f.e. means f(or) e(xample).

I don't think it's going to far, doing it was Rogue would be a good move imo and it would also cut down the cast a little bit.

wow, that spoiler tag didnt work

mmm

Then when you see the start of a failing blackout/spoiler tag, STOP READING. You honestly come into the most justifiably-spoilery thread to complain about spoilers with contributing so little.

For once I agree with Bamf (savor the moment!)

This is the discussion thread for the movie meaning discussion of what we know which includes spoilers.

It's obvious this thread isn't for you. Even with a failed spoiler tag (which was obviously an accident) you could have avoided it, and a broken spoiler tag is the risk you take in a thread like this.

Sorry bout your luck.

Err no. How about they don't erase characters because it limits possibilities for a OT sequel.

They'd never erase Rogue or Storm anyway, they're too iconic. And they both has a lot left unexplored which could be in a sequel.

They explored Rogue alot in the OT and keeping the full cast for possible OT Sequels would diminish most of them to cameos anyway, so why not give some of them a meaningful "death".
A not so drastic way of showing timetravels bad impacts would be to make one of the friendly guys a villain in the future. What do you think about this idea?

If rumors turn out to be true I wouldn't hold me breath for another OT sequel.Hugh Jackman Is obviously an exception to this. But,besides another wolverine film who knows how much longer he will be playing wolverine.

You're just choosing a character you personally don't like. It's never going to happen. They've already suggested Rogue is planned for sequels if there are any.

If the erased a characters birth you can bet it would never be characters like Rogue. They're too iconic and loved. It would be more minor ones.

Who else is in it? Is it like a quick walk-on role for Scott and Jean then cut to black, or does it last a few minutes?

LOL! I never thought I would see the day...

I just know that the "main cast" from the first film will be there. That obviously means Storm, Scott and Jean. Whether Romijn will reprise her role, I don't know. Speculation on my part, but as we'll be following a slightly confused and dazed Wolverine through the mansion, I'm guessing the whole sequence will be a few minutes long. And I can't say for sure the extent of Jean and Scott's role, I'm assuming it's going to be bigger than just a walk-on. I still can't quite figure out why Famke has a body/stunt double and why that doesnt prove something to people, but, anyway... I know it's a very satisfying ending. At least for fans of happy endings and pivotal characters returning. It sounds, to me, like the perfect ending to the entire series, not that I don't want more films. I just get the 'full circle' vibe from it all, and I like it.

Maybe we'll get a photo finish at the end featuring all the cast members from the original trilogy.:D

I was just wondering could help sort this out for me, but in this apocalyptic future where the X-Men, and mutants, are being hunted by the Sentinels, are human beings then living a wealthy and peaceful life? Or has humanity suffered as well from the Sentinels coming into control?
