This is a continuation thread, the old thread is [split]473515[/split]
It would be a big shame to lose Jennifer Lawrence but Mystique has had a lot of time in the franchise already for a 2nd tier character. Beast though I don't ever want to lose...recast if the guy wants to leave.True. But they might well have been a bit exasperated at having to go so quickly into X-Men: Apocalypse, which already has a release date set.
And it's clear Jennifer doesn't much care for the make-up process. Hence they reduced it mostly to a blue bodysuit.
I'm quite happy if Mystique and Beast bow out with X-Men: Apocalypse. They've had their time and the focus could - and should - shift to others.
Well Quicksilver might be playing Dazzler if you've seen that album cover. And dazzler could still work in the 80's

Though it does feel like Singer is taking a step back from FC. Human Beast, walking Xavier, no X-team, Magneto and Charles together again...
I disagree actually. The snippets of information we've heard have been very promising. Perhaps the weakest thing about First Class was the rushed endings for characters that just smacked of "connecting the dots". Singer appears to be really deconstruting who these people are after those events.
Beast's continuing struggle to accept himself is perfectly logical after First Class, but far more interesting is this trait applied to Charles and his disability. I know a few fans were particularly concerned about this being glossed over in DOFP, but it appears to be not only dealt with, but a central theme of the film (and manipulated in a way that will erase a commonly cited plot hole). Him "embracing" the chair sounds great. Sounds like he regained the use of his legs at the expense of his psychic ability, and will have to reconcile his situation.
I expect Xavier and Magneto are going to have a fantastically complex relationship in the 70's section too.
I think the first draft was a 140-something pages, which is long, but isnt terrifying. And then I spent a week and trimmed it down and I think the first draft I gave Matthew was somewhere in the 130s, and by the time we were shooting it was in the 120s. And if you add up all the little bits and pieces and additional moments its back up in the 140s or 50s, but itll be a two-hour movie.
