Brilliant. Let's see Batman do that.

But all jokes aside, that is a truly touching story.

I really can't wait for this one, its one of my favourite superman stories :D

Maybe weirdly enough, I am not anticipating this movie at all. The book was marvelous, and poetic, I mean, why the hell adapt it? It is like every major thing has to be adapted on screen.
It is surely fun but I dislike it, make the original material poorer and above all it makes the dc animated line so poor and unimaginative. I am certainlyredundant but I miss the JL/JLU time. They could do good stories, adapt some in a new way, I think the ambition of WB animation was a lot higher.
I doubt it will be as good as the book. And right now, the adaptation have been poorer than the books (except under the red hood but it was adapted by the writer himself). The book is complete and good, I think this film will miss precisely all the small elements that were necessary to make it a great story.
Through the trailer all I see is an action movie, which All star Superman was not.
I may keep an eye on it but I will certainly not buy this one. :(

What they re trying to do is market their comic books with DTV movies. Kids and noobs are introduced to big events of the comics canon (jason's death, Supergirl's arrival) and are urged to pick up the comics. For example kids now know about Jason. If they wish to find out more about him, they'll pick up the comics.

Another reason could be that its easier and safer to adapt successful stories than come up with new ones.

I noticed their isn't a short on the cover. I wonder if they're going to stop making them, or if they haven't started working on one yet.

Bruce Timm said that unless the Superman/Shazam DVD sold well, they were going to stop making the shorts.

I guess Warner Bros decided that they weren't worth the money.

Either they decided to just release another compilation DC Showcase dvd on fall next year, to avoid double-dipping, or we're not going to see Catwoman, Lobo, Blue Beetle/Booster Gold anchored by Batman Gotham by Gaslight at all as previously rumored from a list that confirmed jonah hex, green arrow and superman/shazam! Along w/ the other new possible shorts mentioned... :(

That Blu-ray cover is awesome!

already on pre-order.

this is my favorite superman story of all time, I hope the animated movie does it justice.

As long as the art style doesn't look too similiar to the comic, i'll be happy.

Love it.

Cover looks pretty nice.

Unfortunately this seems like the end of the shorts.

Hopefully not. Maybe they are just skipping this release, and they'll have one on the next film.

Well the next film is ALL shorts for GL. I for one am excited about a certain Commentary from Morrison.

This depends entirely how well the superman/shazam movie sold, personally i feel they shouldn't had included the shorts in the bluray but just have released superman/shazam movie, because i personally didnt check that movie due to it only including 30 minutes of extra content, and that for me was never worth 20 bucks.

Yeah, they really should held off on releasing that until they had more shorts made.

Does anyone else think All-Star Superman would make a helluva live action movie? I've always thought it could be the last film in a franchise.
