DC Animated Movies wish list

I want two things:

An Epic budgeted Animation trilogy of No Man's Land called:

- Batman:Cataclysm
- Batman: No Man's Land
- Batman: New Gotham

And a super-gritty war drama styled Enemy Ace feature.

These would be great.

One application of CG to the DC universe that I think would be good is if they did a CG DTV of Kingdom Come. It would probably be the most expensive DTV they've ever done (or likely ever will do), but it could be pretty kick ass. I would not want it to be "realistic" CG, though. I'd want it to match the way Alex Ross's art looks, and I think they should use some kind of paint shader to make the whole thing look almost like an oil paint on glass animation, except obviously it would be smoother and a bit more digital looking. One of the shorts in the "Halo Legends" anthology was CG with some kind of paint shader, and something along those lines would work pretty nicely for a Kingdom Come DTV.

The only other way I could see them doing a Kingdom Come DTV and remaining faithful to the art in the book would be to do the whole thing with actual paint-on-glass animation, but the cost of that would be astronomical and it would take years to animate, so I doubt they'd take that approach. ;)

-Flash/Green Lantern team up flick
-Another Batman movie with the cast, look, and feel of Red Hood
-Another Showcase compilation
-An epic Young Justice standalone
-Aquaman
- JLI
-JSA
-Blue Beetle (Reyes)/Booster Gold. Whether it's solo (Booster as a time cop, Jaime in New Mexico) or together, I don't care.
-A CO2E companion piece
-Red Son or Kingdom Come
-A Wally West movie. Either a Rogues battle or Return of Barry Allen

CGI Kingdom Come - I'm a massive Alex Ross fan so that'll be amazing on sceen.

Nightwing

The Long Halloween/Dark Victory

Smallville sequel

Kingdom Come
Superman: Earth One (or Birthright if they don't do Earth One)
Superman: For Tomorrow
Superman: Last Son
All-Star Batman and Robin
Knightfall (but done in 3 parts with Knightfall first then knightquest then knightend)
Justice
Superman and the Legion of Super-heroes
The Man who Laughs

My list still hasn't changed much expect now I want to see Superman: Last Son and an All-Star Superman movie with what made the story magic left in. While the movie was good it left out what I felt huge important parts of the story that should have been kept. Screw the time limit it is okay to have a movie run 90mins you don't need to always keep it at 70.

Action Comics #775 would be great for when they release another collections of short films.

If they did a CG paint shaded Kingdom Come movie, I'm thinking that it would probably be so expensive that they may end up releasing it theatrically. I still want a live action JL movie, but in the meantime a Kingdom Come flick that looks like a moving version of the comic book would be a great way to tide me over. As long as they keep the style of the comic without making it "realistic," it could be a fantastic piece of animation to watch.

Clone Wars has some stylistic elements to make it look like everything has been hand painted as well. I'd love it if the character models in a Kingdom Come movie all had brush strokes on them to make them look like they've been painted in gauche. The lighting would have to be extremely stylized as well, like it's been slightly over-exposed like how Alex Ross's art looks. The whole movie should look like it's gauche painted on white paper.

Correction I meant Justice - more well known versions of characters - and DOZENS of them!! :woot:

They could let the team that made the trailer for DC Universe Online make a Kingdom Come movie.

Kingdom Come
Nightwing (Maybe when he quits being Robin and moves to Bludhaven?)
Green Arrow (I think the Year One storyline would be cool to see.)
The Joker (The Killing Joke, Hamill said he would do it!)
The Question
The Flash (Wally West!)

Those are the ones that I'd like to see that I can think of. :D

List hasn't really changed at all, either. I can't think of anymore I would add to it.

It would be interesting to see Superman: Earth One given the animated treatment. Considering it's only 136 pages, it could easily be made to fit a 70+ minute DVD release without cutting any material out or feeling rushed.

The only thing that would probably be lost in translation would be the wonderful art by Shane Davis, but that's to be expected when making a comic-to-animation adaption. I'm sure that they could find a style that's simple enough to animate with, yet somewhat acknowledges the style of the comic. Maybe a slightly more realistic, detailed version of Young Justice's animation style?

I really would love to see a J. M. Dematteis/Keith Giffen Justice League International movie. Or really just a Super Buddies/Formerly Known as the Justice League/I Can't Believe It's Not the Justice League one.

I would of course love it if the Dematteis wrote it too, he has been writing for DC Animated projects off and on since Justice League Unlimited, Bruce Timm needs to make this **** happen.

I'd LOVE to see a follow up for Wonder Woman, but Warners animation has stated that that movie didn't sell well enough for a follow up...despite the fact that it ultimately sold just under what Superman Doomsday, Batman Gotham Knight and Superman/Batman Public Enemies did.

I don't see Warners doing anything that isn't Superman, Batman, JLA or Superman/Batman together except for The Flash, as he has a possible movie coming up.

Here is what I expect to see:

Batman
The Dark Knight Returns
-and this will probably be in two parts. Bruce Timm mentioned last year at Comic Con that they were thinking of doing a two part DTV movie, and if you are going to take that risk, the safest bet is to do it with Batman. Plus, in Summer 2012 The Dark Knight Rises comes out in theaters. Tie in anyone?

The Flash
-Probably the origin of Barrry, or maybe some Flash family story. Probably like Green Lantern and Wonder Woman's movies, not based on any one particular story.

Justice League
New World Order
-This story would be ideal to adapt into animated form, and brought the JLA back to prominence in the late 90's. It would be the first time there would be a classic "Big 7" JLA movie.
Tower of Babel
-a great JLA story that also is a kick ass Batman tale.
Kingdom Come
-maybe...eventually. It seems like a no brainer.
Superman
Superman For All Seasons
-it could fit in 75 minutes, and with Doomsday and All Star, we've covered the the "death" of Superman too much, here would could follow the beginings again.
Superman and the Legion of Super Heroes
Geoff John's recent arc would be perfect, and introduce a lot of people to the Legion and the future DCU.

Superman: Red Son
Green Lantern Corps
Sinestro Corps War
The Long Halloween
Batman: Arkham Asylum
The Question
The Killing Joke

I'd like to see a Wolfman/Perez Titans arc adapted..
the current Secret Origins Superman mini-series..
some of the Morrison era Justice League stories..
some of the McDuffie Justice League stories..
a full Power of Shazam movie (the short was okay, but.. short)
Peter David's Aquaman adapted..
a Green Lantern film focusing on John Stewart

...and it would be bittersweet, but I'd still love to see Milestone characters get a film... Icon, Hardware, Static, or a crossover with several of the characters..

My wishlist:

OR

Or maybe even a mix of the two but overall I'd prefer Birthright but maybe go with a secret origin and also adapt:

But replace Starfire with Wonder Woman

Although instead of bringing Supergirl in and have Superboy be sent back to his own time I'd have Superboy just remain (I never got why they did that to be honest)

In my opinion the greatest Graphic Novel of them all and I would love to see this adapted.

I'd also love to see a DTV on the origin of the Flash
