Underrated Animated Movies

I'll tell you what is underrated, and that the incredibles. It's the only superhero film that has had a breath of realism in it with a real family connection shining through

just the idea of a retired hero wanting to relive the good ol glory days is a really humanising concept.

nothing else comes to mind...

The Incredibles certainly isn't underrated. When it was released, it made several movie critics top 10 lists for 2004, nominated for 4 Oscars, won 2, won a Hugo Award, and a Saturn award, just to name a few awards it won. When it was released on DVD in 2005, it was the highest selling DVD for the year.

For real under-rated animated films, The Iron Giant and Titan AE definitely come to my mind.

Titan A.E and Iron Giant, which have been mentioned, spring to mind straight away.. erm Duck Tales: Treasure of the Lost Lamp was pretty good too, I dunno how it did BO wise and stuff though..

An American Tail and Land Before Time in terms of quality and story telling and with all the CGI stuff, they don't get any love these days..
Duck Tales, that's a good one too. It didn't do too well, they had a sequel planned, but dropped it because of the BO. I'm still waiting for a Darkwing Movie :o

The Futurama dvd movies... all three of them.

Always seems that people just don't like them that much or say that they shouldn't have made them.

I have a special place in my heart for Quest for Camelot.

Did poorly at the BO though. And most people these days seem to have forgotten all about it.

I recently watched that Sinbad movie on cartoon network. Shoddy plot but OH MY GOD that was some of the finest traditional Animation Ever!

Treasure Planet's considered to be one of the biggest flops of all time,, which is sad cuz it was really good.

Sinbad is defiantly underrated. And Treasure Planet as well.TP more so for all the people who said Titan AE:huh: Titan AE is underrated for a reason:it sucks.:csad:

WATERSHIP DOWN

They just don't animate like they used to. The quality from this film is amazing yet it's somehow fallen into obscurity with many.

Ah Watership Down :woot: Its one of those obscure films most folks just dont know about. They know the book, and once they're informed there is a film they see it and agree its fantastic.

Probably because all the god awful sequels Universal churmed out:csad:

quest for camelot

who'd have thunk gary oldman had such a awesome singing voice lol

A Goofy Movie

Waking Life

And I haven't seen it and would like to one day, but what about A Scanner Darkly?

If we're talking box-office...Which a lot of people have been...Then...yeah.

Emperor's New Groove.

This was the last really good traditionally animated Disney film before everything became computer-generated.

Patrick Warburton was hilarious, as usual! That scene where he is doing his own theme music was classic!

Oh speaking of Warburton and animation, and I know this isn't a movie, but the Seinfeld/Superman webisodes were awesome!

agreed best part of the whole movie :woot:

Basil the Great Mouse Detective...

the only disney film i actually had to hunt for. it's possibly the best animated film disney has ever made and the only one that could really have countless sequals but no one has really heard of it these days which is a shame, cause it's just wonderful. everything about it from the animated to the voice acting is just the fantastic...

yes...i love it:up:

It's such a long time since I've seen that. I hardly remember it...

The Last Unicorn (yeah it's girly, but it's awesome)
My Neighbour Totoro (When it comes to Miyazaki everyone always talks about Spirited Away or Princess Monoke)
The original 40's Superman cartoons. They are phenomenally good with animation way ahead of its time, yet I hardly hear people mention them. I'll see if I can find any online later.

How about The Secret of Nimh?

Yes, and:
