DC Infinite Crisis Deathwatch: How long before these new books bite the dust?

And all you Flash and Atom haters just aren't giving Bart and Ryan a chance!

No, we gave them a chance and we all agreed they suck.

And I still say you'll be wrong, since its one of DC's most popular books

Marvel's "The Thing" sold well and was still canned.

I don't give a damn about any of those books except for Checkmate. That book rocks so hard it's giving me a semi just thinking about it. Don't forget about 52. How embarassing would that be for DC if they had to cancel it?

Checkmate won't be canned for a while as it's proving to be very popular.

I can see Shadowpact not making it to issue 20.

Flash and Wonder Woman won't be cancelled, it just won't happen.

lawl i thnk infinate crisiz is gnna be canzeled, issue 8 iz liek a yeer laet!

By 07 I ment 2007, not issue 7.

Youre still wrong though, im pretty sure it sells well proportinately to how many copies are printed, its always sold out at my store.

Checkmate #1 - 34/300. 49,200.

Checkmate #2 - 55/300. 41,800.

Checkmate #3 - 59/300. 37,600.

Checkmate #4 - 68/300. 34,700.

Checkmate #5 - 79/300. 31,200.

Almost a 20000 sales loss in half a year. Meanwhile you guys say that Shadowpact or Blue Beetle will be canned before it? SP/BB have outsold it every month, except for the #1 issues, IIRC.

While you guys may like, and be fanboys over Checkmate, at this rate, it'll be gone soon.

Edit; Now granted, it's selling decently well. I'll give you that. However, it's selling at less and less per month. Substantially less and less per month. A constant sales number that's semi-low (See Cable And Deadpool with its around 21000 copys a month for the past year or so) will keep a book alive, but a steady drop from month to month like this book (also Shadowpact, Blue Beetle, and a few others) have dropped horribly since they hit issue #1.

No, because its at DC. And its still in the Top 100, once it falls out of that we'll talk. And like I said before, it sells well according to the numbers of issues its printed. For example, She-Hulk #8, the CW tie-in, sold out, completely, and it was only in the low 40's sales wise that month.

I don't see Checkmate getting cancelled as its one of DC's most popular titles.

Just to let you know, ASB/R and ASSM, as well as Blue Beetle, Hawkgirl (for the most part), Nightwing, Robin, Outsiders, and Shadowpact have been outselling Checkmate.

How can you argue with the numbers when both Marvel and DC have both axed comics that have gone this way?

DC is far more lenient than Marvel when it comes to low selling titles. And again, I think youre failing to understand the issue sold/printed ratio. Sales are dropping, but that happens to almsot every book after its first issue and doesnt find its stride until after the first arc where it becomes stable.

Popular in the the critical sense. Theres only a small majority of people who buy and dont like this book.

DC has a habbit of keeping poorly selling books alive for a long time. According to the guy at my comic store, Firestorm is one of the worst selling books, and rumors of it's cancellation have been going on for years, yet DC keeps putting it out.

Firestorm and Manhunter sell worse than Checkmate, and Manhunter was just extended after facing cancellation.

DC doesn't do it as often as Marvel, and actually care about what their fans think. When Manhunter was about to be cancelled, many fans (myself included) wrote in, and that saved the series. I'm willing to bet that the same thing would happen if Checkmate were on the chopping block.

DC kept Gotham Central on for a long time - until's its actual end when Rucka left the title.

I'm sure they will give this book the same backing they gave that.

OH MY GOD, and DC can only print 8 titles!?!?!?!

won't hit #25
Blue Beetle
The Atom

will be kept around, numbers aside, because of upcoming films
Wonder Woman
Flash

less than fifty issues
Checkmate.

no prediction
Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis.
Shadowpact
Hawkgirl

Firestorm and Manhunter didn't lose almost 20000 copys sales wise within the first six issues.
