DC Relaunching Everything?

Why relaunch a new continuity if they aren't starting Batman to square one as a loner?

Dick back as Nightwing and Babs back as Batgirl; just feels like they are erasing everything from between Batman: KnightsEnd & Batman: Prodigal (~1994) to Batman Inc (2011)...

Well, that depends on how young Dick and Barbara are. So that could be as far back as the 70's.

As it's been said before, we don't actually know the extent of this 'reboot'. A lot of people are assuming that it's going to be a full, hard reboot ala COIE, BUT IT HAS NOT BEEN SAID OFFICIALLY THAT IS THE CASE. And, in fact, they've seem to imply that it isn't, since things like Blackest Night are still in effect to some degree, and things like JLI and Batwoman that tie into previous continuity. Wait before jumping on stuff about loner Batman and stuff, because the details aren't even close to being flushed out about this.

I believe Babs was already handicapped at that time...So we're going back to the end of the 80's... wow that's bad.

I dont think the continuity reboot is going to be a "start from scratch" sort of thing. Mostly because of what Morrison has been doing on Batman. Its been selling very well and very well received. Not to mention people love Damien and knowing Morrison he's still got a master plan for Batman. I highly highly doubt DC's gonna make him start over or start from scratch. Then again.......maybe Morrison knew about this reboot all along and factored it into his plans??

Because there are always books about loner Batman for those who like it that way. Starting from square one would be too big of a leap anyway.

I think Batman Inc is safe. I also think Jonah Hex is safe since it's a period piece.

And people were complaining about how bad de-aging the Robins would be. Could you imagine if they de-aged them back to... well, sperms?

Well COIE had things in characters past still.

Since Simone is off of BOP and possibly Secret Six, I hope whatever other title she ends up on now she is teamed back up with Nicola Scott since she is off TT.

Yeah, it's hard to square out the Babs Batgirl/Nightwing stuff.

I've always mushed the best late 70's/early 80's backissues that contain Dick's conversion into Nightwing, sweet Batgirl stories, and epic Batman stuff like the 3-part Clayface storyline with Preston Payne into the "Batman: Year One" continuity after "Robin: The Guantlet/Year One" and "Batgirl: Year One" before Batman 408/Death In The Family.

It only gets a little weird since some old school things don't mesh with this timeline; like Babs working in DC...

Hmm..

Azzarello will have me on board for Wonder Woman. I'll at least check out the first issue of Justice League, Firestorm and DC Presents. I'm definitely on board for Justice League International and Aquaman. As for Captain Atom and Green Arrow, I didn't really like that much of what I read on JT Krul's Green Arrow and Teen Titan runs so I may have to skip. I really want to read a Hawkman book but Tony Daniel is making that a pretty strong NO for me until I at least see a preview. It doesn't inspire much faith that there's so many artist-writer books on the list, I probably will not be getting Flash. As for Mr. Terrific I don't think I know the creative team. I'll wait to see a preview.

Overall, not as bad as it could be, its both interesting and exciting to see DC announcing some of these B and C lister books right off but Im not too optimistic about Firestorm, Hawkman, Mr. Miracle or Captain Atom. I think one of those might strike gold in sales (or at least be decent) and last a while but more than likely they'll all be cancelled in less than a year.

looks like she'll be on Firestorm

Im sure no one gives a damn but i wonder what this means for Finch's Dark Knight book, the guy only did like 3 issues and i'm sure he intended on doing at least 12 issues.

Damn that Hawkman redesign is awesome.

Too bad his character isn't.

I want a Hawkman series independent of the JSA. I like Hawkman and Hawkgirl. :awesome:
