DC Relaunching Everything?

It's just every character that doesn't have a solo.

With 14 members it's pretty obvious that J'onn will be on the team. I'm also expecting Green Arrow, Firestorm, and Hawkman.

Wait a ****ing second... Batman's gauntlets have no fins?

Oh hell naw!!!

It also seems that everyone can draw Jim Lee's new suits better than he can draw them. Everything looks so much better! Even the Flash!
NO FINS!? Why!? That's wrong! -_-

Why relaunch a new continuity if they aren't starting Batman to square one as a loner?

Dick back as Nightwing and Babs back as Batgirl; just feels like they are erasing everything from between Batman: KnightsEnd & Batman: Prodigal (~1994) to Batman Inc (2011)...
Agreed. :( They're erasing such a wonderful run.

Any news on Dick Bat?

If Lee is actually focused on this series as opposed to doing 5 million other things at the same time, I doubt that there are going to be any major delays. His runs on Batman and Superman weren't affected that much by delays.

If DC has the slightest slightest bit of sense, Lee would've started drawing this series a loong time ago. Hell, right now, Lee should be drawing issue 5 or 6, they need to keep ahead of schedule on this and being as this is the flagship book, they cannot afford delays on this.

Besides, DCU Online is finished so Lee has no more excuses.

That's because he wasn't Co-Publisher of DC Comics back then.

Bah...that just means he gets a new shiny desk to sit at in the DC office. Still no excuse.

I'm confused about this relaunch thing. Is it going to be a hard reboot like after Crisis on Infinite Earths, or a soft reboot like the result of every subsequent event that resembled Crisis on Infinite Earths?

They're saying it's not a hard reboot, but the actually details haven't been fleshed out, yet. People are just jumping to that conclusion based on them making the characters younger and such.

Even COIE wasn't a strong enough reboot. It still confused people by how it tried to cherrypick what stuff to keep and what stuff to retcon out. It's been reported both ways, but I expect it to be the usual mess.

I'm not even sure which one I want more. If they were to just over from the beginning with every character like they did with Superman and Wonder Woman in the 80's, that'd make things nice and tidy, but they'd lose decades of history and there's the risk some writers might get carried away like what happened to Marvel's Ultimate Universe.

If they keep all the history and simply alter a few things, that's going to make these relaunches all incredibly confusing.

Well, Green Lantern's probably going to stay largely the same. I doubt Johns invested the past few years of his life into getting Hal just the way he wanted him only to wipe all that away.

How is this not a reboot?

Well, to use a computer analogy (considering that's where the term "reboot" originated), a "reboot" is essentially restarting your computer after having cleaned out your hard drive. Stuff you've downloaded or added gets erased, but essentially, your computer--hopefully--will now be just like first time you brought it, brought it home, and turned it on. A "relaunch" is essentially buying a brand new computer to replace the old one. Or just getting a new computer alongside your old one, only you'll just be using the new computer. Hope that makes sense.

Not just DC Universe Online, but he also tried to tackle two monthly ongoing comics at the same time, multiple covers, and attempted to revive the failing WildStorm line.

Now he's just focusing on his publishing duties (which are mostly focused on DC's digital efforts and a tad bit of editorial with Dan DiDio) and art.

I thought a reboot was simply turning it off and on again. The IT guys go to move. :o

To me, there are two choices: reboot EVERYTHING, starting the entire thing over from the beginning, or turn the clock back to 1985 with the original Multiverse and write Earth-One and Earth-Two versions of what's been done since then, and take it from there. The only continuity that made linear sense was the Pre-Crisis stuff, so if they are wanting to hold on to past stories, those are the ones they need to hold on to. Otherwise, they just need to start fresh and redo everything.

But they'll do neither-instead they will cherry pick what they want to keep and what they want to dump just like they did after COIE and no one will know what stories count and what ones don't.

Azzarello doing Wonder Woman? What a strange choice. I'd love to have him and Eduardo Risso on a Batman book. If DC really needs to have a gritty, streel level Bruce Bats comic, I'd kick Finch and his horrid genericism of The Dark Knight and replace him with Azzarello and Risso.

Firestorm and Mr. Terrific. Those I know I will check out.

So no chance of Martian Manhunter getting his own series? :(

Which is dumb. 75% of those are gonna get canceled.

Well, I'm guessing several of series are also series that are going now (like Action Comics, Detective Comics, Superman, Batman, etc.) that just haven't been officially shown yet.
