There are alot of people that prefer one comic book company over others and some who can juggle different titles from all over, but for me I love DC the best.

I'm so tired of hearing Marvel's cool 'cause their heroes have real problems, who cares. It gets old, and annoying after awhile. I used to read Marvel and besides the fact that it's gotten so crappy over the last few years I got so tired of hearing Spider-man whine about his problems.

And I've seen DC heroes have problems and and situations happening in their lives, it's not just Marvel, but I'd rather read about a hero and his adventures etc. instead of hearing about how he's going to pay his electric bill. Give me a good story instead of a whining character.

DC is just more interesting to me. Their heroes are simply the best. I found myself getting so bored with Marvel before quitting it recently.

Everything I read from DC I've been happy with and find myself getting excited with each title I read. With Marvel I was starting to feel like I just wanted to read the issue and get it over with like it was a chore.

Not a good sign, and when I was young all I'd read was Batman and Superman, and when I got back into DC a few years ago I fell in love all over again and got more into other titlesI hadn't before.

Simply...DC Rocks!

oh boy....

Both companies have thier problems. there are only a few dc books i can really enjoy, marvel i only have two.(DD and CA)

I use to be hardcore Marvel, but DC has been doing a great job with exposing more unknown characters. I thought DC only consisted of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman. I was proven wrong when I picked up Geoff Johns' first run on JSA and eventually Flash. That opened the flood gate for me.

The majority of the characters that exist are interesting and different, whether it be Hourman, Dr.Midnite, Wildcat, Captain Marvel, Star Man, etc. I think its also a novel concept of having a comic book that takes place in the 31st century, meaning the Legion of Superheroes. And lately DC has been taking B and C list characters and making them great. I don't mind that some DC characters are more obscure when compared to Marvel characters. I think Marvel has a ton of classic characters, but I like the idea of DC focusing on lesser known characters.

Exactly which deity do I need to make tribute to in order for this thing to not turn into another dumbass Marvel vs. DC War of the Fanboys.

at least spider-bat had the decency to post this on the dc board...whereas there were numbers of times where some marvel idiot would post "DC sucks" back in the day on the dc board

Both companies have great characters which I'm a fan of.

DC's current state is pretty messy. They seem to be putting all their eggs in the Final Crisis and weekly comic baskets.Besides,ASS,Morrison's Batman,Green Lantern,JSA and Brave and the Bold, there isn't much I'm excited about.

As far as artists go,Marvel is stacked and seems to be using their arsenal much better than DC.They've taken chances on young guns like Yu,Pagulayan,Aja,the Djurdjevics' and Pham by giving them big name projects.Artists who have been around for quite some time such as Epting,Lark,Deodato,JRJR,Guice and Chaykin have been brought to the forefront and are being discovered by a whole new generation of comic readers.

The amount of free reign the company gives their writers is limited.I love DC and their characters, but it's a known fact that there are a significant amount of suits breathing down the throats of editorial over there.

The good thing about DC though,is that they have a crapload of selection of trades from the past to check out.

Proportionately speaking, Dynamite is the best!

I like plenty of heroes in Marvel, just I cannot get myself to actually read any title aside from Daredevil. DC, I like a lot of their heroes, and I love being up to date with so I try to read a lot from DC to be aware of things.

With DC I'm more willing to try out a new title with the risk of me not liking it. Whereas with Marvel, I feel like I'm walking through a mine field when I think of trying a new title out.

This is my sentiment these days. LOVE the heroes, hate the books. But, the quality titles that they have a really good. You just have to find them.

You really don't, you make it sound like it's finding a needle in the haystack. Out of all the titles Marvel publishes, about 65% of them are worth reading, similar numbers for DC.

Nah, I know there are some good titles. People recommend Astonishing X-men and the new Captain America or new Thor or new Nova for example and such to me, I just find it hard to sit down and read them. I know so little of what has been done lately. I've steered so far from Marvel because I didn't like some of the things, that I don't know the current status of a lot of their characters. But I do like those characters. So it makes it really hard for me to pick up a title there.

And with DC, I've been so well up to date with them, it is easier for me to pick up a new title I am unfamiliar with.

It's all subjective, really. I would put that number closer to %30-45.

I think i'd much rather collect marvel comics regularly but by dc graphic novels. I think dc do better complete stories, especially on their alternate earths.

marvel's only got the zombies and i hate it as a gimmick.

This talk of percentages made me curious, so I did some math. Turns out I read about 22% of everything that's being published by both Marvel and DC in the month of March.
