De Niro and Pacino Reunite for Righteous Kill

Some time ago I watched Get Rich or Die Trying just for fun with some friends. We turned it off after 20 minutes. It is so absurdly bad.

I felt the same after watching 8mile, but ill check this movie out I heard 50 has been taking some acting classes so we'll see how this pans out.

The combined forces of DeNiro, Pacino, Nicholson and raised-from-the-grave Marlon Brando couldn't teach Fiddy to convincingly...do anything...like walking down the street.

Robert De Niro and Al Pacino will team for the second time in Righteous Kill, a $60 million independent production put together by Nu Image's Millennium Films and Emmett/Furla Films, reports Variety.

Shooting will begin August 6 in Connecticut, with some work in Chicago to follow. The two stars play cops chasing a serial killer. Jon Avnet will direct and produce and the script is by Inside Man screenwriter Russell Gewirtz.

"This is an event in world history," Nu Image's Avi Lerner said. "They were in two scenes in 'Heat.' In this movie, they are in the whole thing together."

50 Cent Joins De Niro, Pacino in 'Righteous Kill'

Overture Films has picked up all North American rights to Righteous Kill, a $60 million thriller starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino as two detectives tracking a serial killer, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Rapper 50 Cent is in final negotiations to co-star as a drug dealer who helps the detectives with their investigation. Director Jon Avnet is set to begin principal photography in Bridgeport, Conn., and New York in September. Russell Gewirtz ("Inside Man," "Labyrinth") is writing the screenplay, which has De Niro and Pacino onscreen together for nearly the entire film. The two longtime friends shared no screen time in 1974's "The Godfather: Part II" and only one scene in 1995's "Heat."

50 cent is a person I cant stand for the most part but him being in the movie will have no affect on the overall outcome.

DeNiro. Pacino. Righteous Kill. Which has the two as cops trying to resolve issues between themselves while trying to catch a serial killer.

Donnie Wahlberg: Righteous Brother
Ex-New Kid goes Kill crazy with Pacino, De Niro.
by Stax

US, July 18, 2007 - Donnie Wahlberg has been cast opposite Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in the forthcoming crime drama Righteous Kill. The cast also includes rapper-actor Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.

Wahlberg made the announcement during the TCA press tour for his upcoming Spike TV series The Kill Point, according to the actor's hometown paper The Boston Herald.

Wahlberg did not specify what his role was in Righteous Kill but his excitement was evident. "That's going to be a real challenge," Wahlberg said. "I get to work with two of the greatest actors and drive to Boston every night. We start shooting in September, so it will be like going to school for me with two fantastic teachers."

Since his days as one of the New Kids on the Block, Donnie Wahlberg has, like his brother Mark, carved out a career for himself as an actor. His credits include Saw II, Ransom, The Sixth Sense, the HBO miniseries Band of Brothers, and the short-lived but acclaimed TV series Boomtown.

I love both the actors and I can only imagine that if the two raise tension between each other it could be explosive on screen as far as making you feel for the character. I though Pacino was very good in Oceans 13 and De Niro kicked ass for his short role in The Good Shepard.

Well, 50 cent is the only bad news... I think Donnie Wahlberg is a GREAT actor!
