Definitive 80's Songs

However, I hate to be a technacality *****, but "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was not an 80s' hit as it was released in 1979.
Yeah, but the thread starter expressed interest in knowing some of the number one hits of the time. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" went #1 in 1980 for four straight weeks. :)

Yes, I know that. I'm a massive Queen fan. They're my third favorite band of all time, behind Zeppelin and The Who. I'm just saying "CLTCL", while a number one hit in 1980, was initally released in 1979, albeit in the latter half.

Once in a Lifetime.

HECK YES!

Talking Heads are the most underrated band of all time. "Once In A Lifetime" is a defining 80s' song, as is "Burnin' Down The House".

I mentioned them.......:( .........I like them.....

The British Invasion of the 80s were awesome!
Anything by the Material Girl and MJ. To me 1984/85 were the best year in music... but then again, I was only 6/7 then. :O

George Michaels was 80's right, not early 90's? Two songs of his that I liked was that faith song, "Gotta Have Faith" or something, as well as "Father Figure."

I LOVE 80's music. The song that always makes think of the 80's is definatley "Don't You Forget About Me" from the Breakfast Club (sung by Simple Minds).

Billy Idol just rox no matter how you put it

What do you think of Michael Buble's cover of the song?

Can't go wrong with Madonna.
My favorite 80s song of hers is Borderline.

Anything by "Foreigner" was ****ing GOLD! back in the 80s.
Eric Clapton - Layla
Van Halen - Panama!
Van Halen - JUMP!
the rest of the 80's isn't too vivid. Billie Jean?
