Michael Bay's Ninja Turtles Reboot Delayed
Source: The Hollywood Reporter June 15, 2012

Paramount Pictures has postponed the planned release of the upcoming Platinum Dunes reboot, Ninja Turtles, says a story at The Hollywood Reporter. Originally set for release on Christmas Day, 2013, the project is now targeting a May 2014 release.

Michael Bay is producing with Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) directing from a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol). The turtles are expected to be motion capture CGI, much like what we saw in last year's Rise of the Planet of the Apes.

The franchise, which began as a black and white comic book series in 1984, rose to tremendous popularity when it became an animated series in 1987. Following the first live-action film in 1990, the series spawned two live-action sequels, a live-action television series, a second animated series and a CGI feature film.

If it helps make the movie better than Im all for it. But Paramount and these delays...at least it's not as bad as GI Joe's

So we're basically waiting close to another decade before we get another TMNT movie in theatres. Thank God for Turtles Forever.

Good thing that they realize after reshoots for both G.I. Joe 2 & WWZ is not to rush a production until they're fully satisfied budget & creative wise.

Which is good thing since it could've likely go down the same route WWZ & G.I. Joe 2 has gone later on, fixing the script will hopefully eliminate that possibility.

Paramount, man...ya'll just ****ing up.

Paramont is like a more passive version of early to mid 2000's Fox (When they had crap after crap until recently)

It's just so counter-intiuative. I know crap can happen when you're shooting but what happened to World War Z and GI Joe 2 (and Hanzel & Gretel) were just poor planning.

I hope here they are able to fix the problems before the shoot.

Maybe then they'll fix the script and keep the turtles being Genetically mutated turtles now because I bet that's one of the "script problems" whether it's them feeling threatened by the fans or that change causing them to create too much work for themselves rendering the story forced and contrived

Maybe they can fire Michael Bay in the mean time & bring in real people

To be frank, we could used a movie like this for June. I know we got Prometheus, Brave, and Abe Lincoln, but you know.

Another dope solution....hell even bring Peter Laird on to help Kevin Eastman oversee things.

It comes out the same day as the second Marvel studios film that year...one of those is going to flinch and switch spots.

Cowabumma :(

May i point out Bay is rewriting the entire history of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Seeing as they have delayed it due to script issues then its likely being rewritten slightly.
