What sort of scenes ended up on the cutting room floor? I'm trying to think of bits in the trailer that weren't in the film, but I'm drawing a blank. There were a few alternate takes here and there (Kruger's final words), buy nothing major that I can think of.

Anybody else?

Nothing that comes to mind so far. I think everything I saw in the trailers was actually in the movie. That's kinda rare in and of itself.

I think they used a different take at the beginning of the montage when Cap and the Howling Commandos bust through Hydra's front door and Cap is at the front shooting people down with his pistol. In the trailers, you could get a good look at most of the characters on screen, but in the film Cap overshadows the other characters. I personally liked the take used in the trailer more. However, I could be wrong and it's possible the scene in the trailer was just a slower version of the one used in the film, giving me the impression that the take used in the film was actually different.

I also think that there is a scene in the second trailer after Steve captures the Hydra spy, where Peggy is present and looks at Steve.

Yeah there might be a bit where Peggy catches up with Steve at the waterfront after Kruger is dead.

Regarding the montage bit, I just figured that the clip from the trailer was the unfinished version, before color correction and that weird "speed-up" effect.

There is a lot of alternate/deleted scenes from Tommy Lee Jones' speech to the army guys, even in the "Behind The Shiled" special on REELZ, you can see him say stuff that is never in the movie.

And correct me if im wrong, even though it is shown all the time in the trailers...Steve's head never actually grew to size in the film did it, while he was in that machine?

Yeah you don't see him growing up in the machine, its just a blue light. When they come busting through the door may have him more front in center because thats the first time we see him in the new suit.

I got a couple with Dr. Erskine:

1. In one of the TV spots Cap says "is it too late to go to the bathroom?" before he goes into the chamber for the vitarays when he's laying on the table. He says something like this INSIDE the chamber in the movie.

2. "Not just a soldier...but a good man" becomes "not a perfect soldier but a good man" in the movie.

Red Skull difference I spotted:

3. In the TV spot (number 11 I believe) they show the Hydra logo on Red Skull's jacket. In the movie the close up of his logo on his jacket is blood splattered from when he shoots the bearded guy in Norway.

Well from the post opening weekend TV spot we already know that the conversation between Fury and Cap at the end of the movie was longer.

^That in all reality could very well end up being put in The Avengers rather than just ending up in a deleted scene bit on DVD.

Sorta like how the post-credit scene in IM2, was really just a Thor scene.

Well they're all more or less Avengers post scenes like in the EMH mini's.

well I stop watching tv spots and ads once a movie comes out. then it becomes too hard to follow

They also cut off the end of the Times Square scene. In the full clip, Agent Coulson shows up and presents Cap with his shield. Not sure what the dialogue was, but I was kinda bummed that they didn't include it (though I can see why they didn't, given the emotional nature of Cap's last line).

I'm glad they didn't, it would have dragged too long.

I'm guessing the extra parts will be in The Avengers.

From some fan footage shot when they filmed it. They obviously couldn't block off all of Times Square, so there were still plenty of people and traffic there. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the people in the final film were actually just real people taking snapshots of the filming. I suppose it would work for the film's purposes, as well.

:awesome:

I read Joe Johnston's live chat on Hero Complex right before the premiere (even got a question answered!) and someone asked if there was an alternate "Director's Cut" of the film. He said that the movie that you see in the theaters is ultimately his version. He also said that not much was cut and if they did, it was for flow and/or time. I'm betting that there will be a few deleted scenes on the home video release, but nothing too major. Marvel is bound to add their own extras, though.
