 :( :p I used to be extremely annoyed at the X3 writers, but I guess they really didn't have much control over the project, so it's not really their fault, in some respects (minus their lying). Sounds like they actually had good ideas that just weren't used, or edited out to make Wolverine the focus.
I agree with you on that one, Ant, it seems that too much blame and not enough credit is given to the writers for at least TRYING to make the movie better.

They probably would've been listened to had the director not been a studio yes-man.

Original X-Jet Entrance

Wolverine: They're not coming.

Iceman: Hey! We trained for this.

Wolverine: This isn't the Danger Room, Bobby.

Iceman: Logan, we're ready to fight.

Wolverine: Fight for what? You better know the answer 'cause you got a war. You might not come home. (points to Shadowcat) She might not come home. Are you ready for that?

Iceman: We're not kids anymore. We're X-Men.

Wolverine: Was does that mean? Apart from the 'X' on your chest.

Shadowcat: It means we fight to protect those who ha-

Wolverine: Hate and fear us? Yeah, I heard that one. But it's just words.

Iceman: That's not what it means. It means we're a family. All of us. And we fight as one or not at all. That's what it means.

Wolverine: You have no idea what's waiting out there. Magneto's got an army this time.

Storm: And Jean.

Beast: His powers have limits. Hers' do not. If we don't stop them now, then nobody can.

Iceman: (to Wolverine) It seems to me you need all the help you can get.

Wolverine: (pause) Ok. Let's go.

Listening to the commentary made me it clear as day. Matthew Vaughan didn't leave X3 because of his family, but because he wouldn't have much control of the project thanks to Fox inputting their own ideas. :whatever:

I Can't Wait Till It Comes Out Tuesday.i'm From Louisiana.

Damm you, Fox, and your "Logan as the Star" idea. Buahhh

Really? I thought there was nothing on the commentary about the studio politics. Interesting...

There wasn't. But the commentary made it clear that Fox was pulling the strings on this one. Which is most likely why Vaughan took off, because he didn't want to be Fox's puppet.

Fair enough. It bothers me that Fox would be so careless with one of their flagship franchises... that they'd ****e it out exponentially rather than trying to make the best movie possible.

Its not only that its also the extremely short period he would have given to make the film. Thats one of the reasons Joss Whedon declined Fox's offer to direct X3.

There was still an impressive amount of SFX in the movie despite the short amount of time they had.

That could be it too, but Fox's controlling seems like the bigger issue that was at hand.

And that's a bad thing? lol

QFT. There's a lot that isn't said on the commentary, but it's very telling what they don't talk about.

Like the original X-Jet entrance being changed because Iceman was the so-called dominating character in the scene.

FOX has no integrity...its all about the money.

They're this generations WB (pre BB, Vendetta, SR). :csad:

They do that to every single one of their franchises.

God forbid anyone but Wolverine dominates a scene!!:whatever:

Well, Whedon DOES have a good grasp on the personalities of the characters and how they fit into society... I think we would've gotten a much better film had he been a part of it.

They needed more than a dozen fx houses to do the work spread across the globe to finish the work.

I know, they're to blame. No Cyclops, No Phoenix, those darn parameters. And if Shawn Ashmore accepted the role of Jimmy Olsen we might not have had Iceman.:cmad:

^I would have had absolutely NO reason to watch the movie, then. Though it is kinda funny that his brother is the new Jimmy Olsen on Smallville.

They didn't want Cyclops b/c of Marsden's "defection" and they didn't want Phoenix b/c they wanted it to be strictly "X-men vs. Brotherhood" correct?
